My garage door was broken - the sprocket on top of the unit snapped into pieces. So I contacted 4 garage door Services in the Angie's List (a lot of them have good ratings from others - they showed up on the top 5 or so on the listing when I first searched for North Dallas area). Got a few quotes, some were ridiculous - someone stated I would have to have the Liftmaster Unit replaced, and coil on the door replaced, rolls, etc. The quotes varied greatly, but I could tell some were just lying and trying to make every single cent from you....
So I waited until all 4 called. A day later (over the weekend), I got a phone call from Paul (Service Lock and Garage Door Company). I immediately got a "good feeling" about Paul - he sounded very friendly yet trustworthy and said "no need to get the parts replaced, I can just fix the sprocket and adjust the coil, rolls etc FREE for you!". His prices are also reasonably low/competitive. Wow, so I asked him to come over. He came and we started to chat while he was fixing the unit and adjusting the door. He's very friendly, explaining every single detail and got things done in a professional manner. Very fast, reasonable, and more importantly - trustworthy.
Unlike the 3 other Service companies (again, they are the large ones and show up in the FIRST 5 LIST on Angie's), Paul owns his own business, does not use Servicemen who just simply try to make money out of you.. I can tell, Paul's goal is all about Delivering Excellence and keeping good clientele - he would not try to sell you on replacement parts that you don't need. I am even referring him to my good friend - she is a Realtor in Plano who can use services in garage.
Net net: I will recommend Paul in a heartbeat, and will use his service again in the future. It's hard to find good, reliable and trustworthy Servicemen like Paul and his Service Lock and Garage Door Company.

Found that I live just outside of his service area but since he was coming this way for another service call and I was a repeat customer, he was willing to help out.
Showed up when he said, performed the work very quickly, cleaned up so that I couldn't tell that he had been there other than the replaced spring and functioning door. The price was exactly as he quoted over the phone.
Check the service area - it's NOT all of the DFW metroplex!

I received a garage door tune-up. I expected to be told I needed a new garage door since my door is 35 years old, but after the "Tune-UP" the door was better than it was when new and has been great and super quiet ever since

The owner gave me a time frame when he would be out and he was right on time. He replaced all the rollers and adjusted the garage door so it rolls quietly and efficiently. I highly recommend this company.

Had a great experience. Got the tune-up and roller replacement service. During that review it was pointed out that the correct hinges were not used during original installation. Service man replaced for free and now the door works much better than it ever did. Also, had on hand a remote door opener that I was able to purchase saving me a lot if time and aggravation. Awesome service overall.

Called Paul right around 8AM and explained situation, asked if it would be possible to get it checked out today. He asked my location, checked his schedule and estimated he could be there in 11/2 - 2 hours. He was there in his estimated time frame, only took him a couple of minutes to determine the problem and quote a price. He performed the work quickly, checked to make sure there were no more potential, pressing problems, and was gone in thirty minutes. He was efficient, courteous, and knowledgeable. Would definitely use again if we have problems.

Paul showed up a few minutes early, called before he came, and was very friendly. Figured out the problem with our garage door and had it all fixed inside 45 minutes. Good value and we would use him again and recommend him!

Paul arrived on time and after checking my door, said it just needed a minor adjustment so it wouldn't hesitate during cold weather. He told me that he had never heard such a quiet door, so I obviously did not need any roller replacement. I purchased this big deal because I didn't know if my door needed any maintenance, and I don't want to get stuck with a broken door because I didn't take care of it.
So, I basically paid $99 for nothing but a little peace of mind, and that's ok.

Paul arrived early on the 2 hour time range he quoted me. Was very friendly and knowledgeable. Installed both openers in about 2 hours - cleaned up the old unit. Left the place clean and working great.

Was very helpful in explaining all about openers and how to work and program them.

Very pleased. Called in the morning and was told he could be out that afternoon. He showed up right on time, replaced the garage door rollers, tightened up the spring, adjusted the garage door tracks and lubed all the hinges, etc. The garage door went from being a noisy squeaky monster to surprisingly quiet. The only noise you hear now is the opener itself. He was very friendly the entire time he was here, and was a pleasure to deal with. Would use again.

I responded to the Angie's List Special for a $99.00 garage door tune-up and roller replacement from this company. I purchased the special because I had a few problems with the door not opening smoothly and stopping before it was completely opened. The technician immediately identified 4 issues that could be responsible for the problem, and repaired all of them quickly and expertly. He also identified a problem with the opener housing, and circuit board, which resulted from the extreme temperature differences in the Dallas climate (i.e. plastic motor housing has a limited lifespan when garage temperatures fluctuate between 110 degrees and 30 degrees). The problem also caused problems with the circuit board, for which he had a part in his truck, and he quickly replaced the circuit board.

The technician was extremely knowledgable; he was kind of like a professor for Garage Door University.

This was the best ever garage door work that I have ever had, and I have used other garage door companies which are on Angie's List as A rated. I will definately be using this company next time I need garage door work. Even though the technician did more than I expected, there were no additionmal charges.

The problem started on Saturday, but I waited until Monday to call. I searched Angie's List for a garage door repair service close to my house and with good ratings. Service Lock and Garage Door Company was my first choice because of the excellent ratings. Paul schedule a time to stop by later in the day. He arrived as scheduled, fixed the door replacing both the bolt and the bracket, adjusted the springs, and even straightened my bent door. He did a great job. I definitely recommend him.

I only had to call Paul one time and he made an appointment for the next day. He gave me a call before arriving so I could run home right quick. Within half an hour, he had my nonworking garage door working perfectly. He spent an additional 20 mintues on brackets, bracing, frame, and door and didn't charge me for the additional work or parts.

Highly recommend the guy, he couldn't have done anything more.

Bad experience ..I clicked on Garage service for Mckinney, TX, This company came up with a Angie's big deal for $89 to replace the rollers. I bought the deal and call to set up the appt.

Owner states he won't go to Mckinney only as far as Plano. I do know who is to blame the owner for not clearly stating on his Angie's big deal offer that it only cover a limited area around Carrolton or if Angie's List should have noted the cover area. Either way the owner wasn't going to honer the coupon and told me to contact Angies list for a refund. Frustrating as I now have to go find another company and attempt to get my money back.

He was finished quickly and we have not had a problem since. Well worth the "tune up" that was the special for the week.
