I called several concrete companies in the area to compare prices. Lamberts/Lambcon was in line with most everyone else I contacted. I chose them to deliver the concrete for me about two weeks out from when I needed it (they told me only about a days notice was necessary). I told them a good day and time for delivery. They asked me to contact them the morning of at 9am (I had requested it be delivered at 10/1030am). They have you call, he said, because they don't mix it until you call and confirm that you still want it. I called them at 9am to confirm, I asked if it would be 10 or 1030 before they arrived. He said they'd "do their best" to be there at 1030. I had helpers at my house ready to unload the concrete when the truck arrived (you have a certain # of yards you have to unload per minute). I took a half day off work in order to be there when it arrived. Around noon, the truck finally arrived. They called me around 1115 to make sure of the concrete mix I wanted and let me know they were about to load it in the truck. Needless to say, they were over an hour and a half late and I had to end up taking the whole day off from work because of that. When it came time to pay, I noticed the quote they gave me over the phone for the delivery charge didn't match up with what was on their invoice... truck driver said he didn't know anything about another price and he couldn't change it. I went ahead and paid thinking I may have remembered wrong and could double check what I had written down later. They also added an extra charge for the fiber in the concrete on top of the quote they had given me. I stated I wanted fiber concrete from the beginning- nothing ever changed. If I had known about all these additional fees, someone else's company may have been a better option to go with in the end. I did double check the delivery fee they had quoted me and it was less than what the invoice was. I called the company, asked to speak with the person who told me the quote, and he said that [what I was charged] was their standard fee... and he didn't have any papers laying around from my order that he could go back and check (even though there were papers with my info and the quote before when I had called back to schedule a time for delivery). He also told me my check had probably already been deposited. I had checked my bank account before calling and that was not the case and I told him that it had not been. He offered no remedy or options and wasn't interested in making things right. I had only asked for the $20 difference back from the delivery fee discrepancy... The truck driver was nice and they seemed to answer the phone when you called. Those are the only positive things I can say about the company now.
Description of Work: Provider delivered concrete to my house in order for me to pour a footer for a foundation on an addition to my house. Also, Lambert's changed their name to LambCon recently.
