Opach's A/C & Heating

Description of Work: Oscar has saved us time and again, coming out within 12 hours when A/C was stopped up, when a pipe was frozen over, and when I just needed a tune-up. Says he's extra considerate because we have kids, but given that he also does his best to use natural chemicals if possible, it's probably because the world has kids. Respectful, prompt, reasonably priced, and a pleasure to work with.

Description of Work: Fixed the leaks in the air ducts and unit, added freon to the AC unit, replaced the compressor, installed a drip pan, unclogged the pipe that lets the water drip out of the ac unit, and lots of other things that dearly needed attending to. Also advised that we should look into replacing our entire unit since it is 12 years old.

Description of Work: Upstairs AC unit was not cooling. Freon was bought. Less than a month later the unit took out. I hired another company to service it and I ask if the unit was leaking Freon and it was not but when I ask was it full of Freon they informed me it was extremely low and in their opinion the unit was not filled with Freon that I paid for less than a month prior.

It was a very difficult job as all equipment was in a shallow attic. There were a few unanticipated problems along the way but Mr. Opach himself stayed and finished the job by himself. He also gave me a discount on the heating system as well as a larger capacity hot water heater, of which he absorbed the cost. I was very pleased.

The person who came to check my heater was very polite and punctual! He very quickly and efficiently fixed my problem.

Description of Work: I misunderstood the offer, thought I'd signed up for heating system cleaning/check. Offer was actully for twice year maintenance. Mr Pruitt was prompt, efficient, returned my call very soon after I originated a call to them. We agreed on a time the next week, and he arrived at the promised time. What he really did was uncover some duct work that had come completely seperated, blasting all the hot air into the heater closet, and all the insulation was in shambles. I was right there with him when he opened the heating closet and it was a mess, so I didn't feel he was selling me a bill of goods. I saw it for myself. The scary thing was the walls were HOT, all the way thru to the water heater closet on other side. It scared me really bad. There definitely could have been a fire. Period. He came back the very next morning with 2 helpers, even though a later day in the week would have been more convenient for him, It was about a 3 hr job. They were neat and considerate of my house; they did most all the prep work/cutting in the garage. I felt very comfortable when they finished, even tho it was alot more money than I'd planned on. I was more than happy to pay.

Description of Work: The gentleman did an informed job providing the tune-up. Upon inspection, he discovered I needed a new disconnector box. The box costs around $185 and he came back in the next couple days to perform that work. I was very happy with the service provided.

He came out and inspected the furnace and told me he shut it down for my safety. He told me it was a definite fire hazard and a replacement was necessary. Well,I wasn't surprised. My unit was 41 years old ! ! He did not try to sell me a new unit. He simply told me it needed replacing. I decided this was the man I wanted to do business with. We made the deal and he came outh the next day with a replacement. In spite of some unexpected problems, he did not charge me.
