I dropped my ridiing mower off on April 9th with a problem of it not wanting to run w/o spraying starting fluid in the carb. I had already diagnosed the issue being the carburetor as I was getting ignition, and air, just no fuel. Before dropping it off to them I had replaced all of the fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel filter, coil, and spark plugs. They said they were extremely busy and it might take a few weeks. Well I was in no big hurry and said that would be fine. Wrong thing to say to any repair shop!!! After not hearing from them for a month I called repeatedly and they said that the tech would call me back. Never got a return call. I had my brother-in-law call as they do all of the service for his lawncare business. They said that they were going to get on it in a few days and that was around May 21st . Never heard from them. My brother-in-law went by the next day, and found the mower sitting in the corner of their shop with a lot of dust and dirt on top of it. They had not even attempted to work on it! The tech said he was getting ready to work on it and would give me a call when he figured out the problem with it. I finally got a call from them on June 7th saying the carburetor was completely shot! A new one would be around $300 or he had a used one that was working perfectly for $120.00. I went with the used one. A few days later my brother-in-law called them back and they said that my fuel pump was bad and that the fuel lines needed replacing also. What? I just installed a new fuel pump ($60) and fuel lines ($5) myself less than a week before I took the mower to them. He told them I wanted every part they removed from the mower....here is where they are not very smart. I had marked every part that I just replaced with a paint pen noting the date it was replaced. I do this everytime I change the oil or replace any major part as I don't have total recall when it comes to the date when I service my mower. (This also goes for my vehicles). I finally got a call from them saying my mower was ready except it needed a vacuum hose that they had ordered. Few more days went by and no reply. Then while my brother-in-law was mowing my yard he got a call from them asking if I would be interested in selling my mower? Why? They had two guys that wanted to buy it and wanted to know what I would take for it....told them no thanks and I wanted my mower back. I can understand why someone would want my mower as it looked better than new when I dropped it off. They even made comments about why a new mower was in their business for repair. None of the employees could believe it was 7 years old! This thing didn't have a scratch or dent in it, nor was there any dirt, dust, grass, grease, or oil leaks on it when I dropped it off. I take pride in taking care of everything I own!!! It is even garage kept and waxed twice a year....it leads a pampered life for a lawn mower. They said they were still waiting on that vacuum line and I told them not to worry with it as I had a spare at the house. A few days later they said my battery wouldn't stay charged overnight but they were going to put it on the charger that night and it would be ready. That was on June 18th. Well I was going out of town and told them I would get it when I returned. My brother-in-;aw picked the mower up for me on June 26th and delivered it to my house. I was ticked off when I saw the condition it was in! Dirty, scratched up, and had two dents in the hood that were not there when I dropped it off!!! He handed me a bag with the original carburetor in it that was junk, along with the new fuel pump I had just put on it. I went and paid for the repairs and didn't say a word regarding the damage as I didn't have time to get into it with them. Besides I new I could repair the damage in a day...... Well I finally got around to cleaning the mower up on Saturday June 30th and that is when I blew a gasket! I looked at my hour meter and saw where it had 102.7 hours on it!!! How? There is no way they needed the to test the mower for 20 hours, that is like mowing my yard 8 times!!! This is when I noticed a lot of grass build up inside the drivers console area, and also under the pulley covers for the mower deck. They charged me for an oil change and I had changed it last May and never ran the mower after changing it. The oil filter I had installed was still on it with the date of May 11th 2011 in white paint pen! Also the fuel lines they say they replaced were still the same ones I replaced a few days before dropping the mower off as they still had the dates on them! I called them on Monday July 2nd and they have not returned my calls...bet they are trying to come up with a story as to why it has so many hours on it and why I found what I did. I would expect a few hours on it to make sure it ran correctly, but not 20! Just nuts!!! They will get a visit from me by the 6th with pictures showing what I found............... Oh I can say this, my mower runs as good as or better than it did when it was new! I will give them credit for that only...... Right now I would not recommend these guys to anyone.
