Auto Service
On 06/06/2011, I took my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500, to Tom Taylors to be checked because the air conditioning was not cold. they called me a few hours later and said it needed a new a.c. compressor, orfice tube and accumalator, for a total of $1098.47. After talking to a few different people I decided to take it some where else for a second opinion. I went on 06/07/2011, to pick up my truck and was told there was a $79.00 charge to find out what was wrong with the A.C. I was never told there was a charge to look at my truck to diagnose the problem. After talking with the service guy and explaining that I was never told there would be a charge, he cut my bill down to $35.00 plus tax = $38.41.I then took my truck to another shop, where they found that my A.C. had a leak, they fixed the leak and recharged my A.C. for $131.82.On 06/08/2011, after picking up my truck and making sure the air worked properly, I called Tom Taylors and spoke with Mike Taylor. I asked him when was a good time for me to come and talk to him about the service I had received on 06/06/2011. He told me just about anytime would be good. About an hour later I went to the dealership and asked for Mike Taylor, I was met by the sales manager, Brad Robinson. Mr. Robinson said, Mike had an emergency at home and asked him to take care of me. I explained to Mr. Robinson what the service department had said was wrong with my truck and what it was going to cost, then told him I had someone else fix it and it was only a leak and needed to be recharged at a cost of $131.82. Mr. Robinson said he didn't have an explanation, other than the mechanic was having a bad day and had his head up his butt.He offered his apologies several times, said there was no excuse for what had happened and said they would give me back my $38.41. He also wanted to know how they could build their trust back with me, It was suggested he talk with Mike and Tom Taylor and see what they had to say and what they felt was the best solution to the problem. He assured me they would give me a call no later than monday 06/13/2011, as to this date no one from Tom Taylors has contacted me. I feel, because I do not know anything about automobiles that they were trying to make extra money off me, and bill me for things that were not broke.
