It went just fine! Very high quality work. Only thing that was a little upsetting was the price. It cost me almost $130 to have the lamp repaired; however, I wasn't able to locate a new one so if I wanted a working lamp, I had to use these folks. Lamp looks and works great now.

The did the repair quickly and she was thrilled. Needed a new shade but it was pretty pricey. She liked it so all is good.

They have a lot of things in the store, although I really did not have a big choice of places to look because the part I needed was a specialty thing. It would not be found anywhere and they had it for me. I can't compare the store to something else. They had what I needed. We looked there for a lamp shade once and they were a little pricey, but they had the lamp part I needed. When I went to the store to get the part I needed I had to help myself because the woman who was running the store the whole time. I understand she was trying to do business and she apologized for having to be on the phone.

Calloway's used an interesting scam to rip us off. We are warning people to be smart!
Went to Calloway to purchase long shades for a pair of tall lamps. When looking at the lamps, one female employee commented that just buying a shorter harp would make the lamp look strange and we shouldn't do it. The owner encouraged us to special order shades. Claimed that he could order the shade with a frame (part that finnial screws into on top of shade) flush with the top of the shade, giving us two extra inches of shade extension down the lamp. Off course, they wanted full payment before they would order.
When we went to pick up the shades, the frame was offset downward, as is the case with most lampshades. We were served by a second female employee. When we pointed out that the frame wasn't flush, she told us that it was impossible to make the shade that way and that wasn't what was on the order form. She told us that she could tell we were upset and that we should bring the lamps back in (for the second time) and she would put on a shorter harp (exactly what we were told not to do by the first employee). The employee who told us not to try a shorter harp was right behind the woman who proclaimed that is all we needed. She fled when she saw that we were angry and didn't correct the woman. We did not leave with the shades.
So, we special ordered shades because we were told a shorter harp wouldn't work and that the shades could be made to address our problem, according to the owner and one employee. Another employee told us, after we had paid for the shades, that they couldn't be made as promised by the owner and that a short harp was all we needed. In other words, if any of them had been honest in the first place, we could have gotten a shorter harp and in-stock shades on our first visit.
Today when we went back, we asked to speak to the owner. The second employee told us he would be right with us that he was downstairs. She went downstairs to speak with someone. She then came upstairs and told us that the owner was downstairs cleaning up a water leak but would join us shortly. We waited and the employee returned from a second trip downstairs to say that the owner wasn't really there but that she could call him on the phone. We don't know if she isn't sure who the owner is or if the owner can teleport himself elsewhere magically at a moment's notice to get away from angry customers.
Summary -- they used an interesting one-two scam on us to encourage us to special order shades when a cheaper fix was possible. Please be aware that Calloway's may try the same tactics on you if you aren't diligent. We will obviously never go there again. We are also writing to the Better Business Bureau and will tell all our friends to stay away.

It took a few days longer than they estimated but we could have saved ourselves a lot of hassle by going to a real pro in the first place. Repairs are in the back but it's a fun store too. They've been at that location forever. Recommended.
