We originally contacted Weather Tamer to replace our asphalt roof due to a serious leak over a bedroom. We contacted them due to their reputation on Angies List. Mike Howerton came out and quoted us a price. His price was a bit high but once he applied the 30% discount it brought him back down to be within range of other companies we had quote us. When Mike came out to sign the contract, we found out that a metal roof was not much more money and decided to go with a metal roof. That is where the problems began. Since we "called an audible" and went with the metal roof, we didn't really have time to decide on a color. I told Mike we would talk about it and let him know but we were leaning toward black. To get the contract filled out he put Black down. I emailed him within a couple hours and told him we wanted bronze and he replied no problem and that they would order it and get to our roof the next week due to our leak.When the metal arrived (over a week later), it was black- he had forgotten that we told him to go with bronze. Mistakes happen and he quickly turned this around and had the new metal at our house the next day. We were told the job would take 1 day, however they were there the entire week and into the next week. Our house is just at 1000sq ft so it was not a large house, it should not have taken a week. Weather Tamer has great reviews on Angies List, I just don't know how many of those reviews were for metal roofs- when they finished it looked like the first time they had ever put a metal roof on. The edge metal they used stuck out about 3 inches from the side of the house and you could look up and see the shingles (it should have been a different bend of metal that actually bends back and nicely finishes the edge). Mike even acknowledged that they knew it was the wrong trim but never really answered me why they didn't correct it before I pointed it out to them- I guess they hoped I wouldn't notice. The "gable" (I'm not sure if it is a gable, I'm not really up on construction terms) where the dining room meets the main house was a horrible transition, the roof metal was very scratched in many. When they thought they were done, I had a list of about 10 items that they needed to correct- from major cosmetic issues to some that were admittely minor. This is where Weather Tamer's reputation really came into play- I never did ask Mike how many metal roofs they have done, but I gave him the list and he kept working on it until everything was corrected- they replaced the metal trim, they reworked the gable issue, they hand painted the scratches with touch up paint, they added screws to where the metal was not sitting correctly, the took the chimney cap that they installed back to the shop and painted it to match the roof instead of just a galvanzed piece of metal. One of the roofers stayed on the roof and the other was on the ground the whole time. The guy on the ground was a smoker (we are a non smoking family with a young daughter but I don't mind if someone smoke) the problem was that he left his cigarette butts on the ground on the front porch, driveway, and yard. Mike was very clear when we signed the contract that his guys were VERY clean and we would not even know they were there. In Mike's defense, when I told him about this issue at the end of the job he was very unhappy to find out about this and was very clear that he would take care of the issue. In the end I am happy with the job that they did, however if I had not been vocal in what they had done originally they would have left me with a very poor looking job. I did ask him to discount the job by a couple hundred dollars due to all the hassle and the fact that it took them a week and a half. He took off a hundred dollars, responding that he had lost money on the job, which wasn't at all my fault. And I did help him find someone to buy the black metal that was originally misordered so he wasn't stuck with that.

It was done with professional skill and detailed workmanship. I was to our satisfaction. Will hire this company in future when needed.

The owner of the company promptly met with me, gave me an estimate, and showed me samples of shingles. Because I had a bad leak that was affecting one of my interior rooms, the owner moved me up on the schedule, since we were having a lot of heavy rain storms. From the time I first met with the owner until the crew started was less than two weeks. The crew arrived by 7:30 a.m. each morning, and they were polite and hard-working. I was especially pleased with the care they took while tearing off the old roof. I have extensive perimeter flower gardens, and they didn't harm any of the flower beds. All materials were stacked neatly at the end of each day. Because of rain and the fact that the shingles shouldn't be walked on when hot, the installation took longer than I had expected, but my roof is very steep and has a lot of cuts, so the work was done in a timely fashion. I was very impressed by the careful work by this company and its crew. My only negative impression was in the initial pricing--the company advertises a 30% discount for Angie's List customers, when in fact the bid submitted before the 30% discount was far higher than any other bid I took (I had 5 companies come out to offer a bid). However, once the so-called 30% was taken off, the bid fell in between the highest and lowest bid, and was competitive with other area roofers. This company is insured, bonded, and I was told that the roofing crews were licensed. Overall, I was exceedingly pleased, and will use this company again when I am ready to install new windows in my house.

Did not do what he said, did not point entry porch roof, roof he put on has problems, leaking in the kitchen, porch roof and the roof on the trailer. Can not get him to return calls.

Their estimate was about as reasonable as everyone else that I had quote me for windows. I was referred to them by a neighbor and they seem like they may be a pretty decent company to work with. He wasn't pushy or anything like that.

The drying out went great as it had rained and there were no water in the cans.

The process was pretty much in the order of which I described above. All the debri was put in their traxh trailer and hauled away from my property. They worked at a good steady pace, but did not rush through the job. All in all it took about 3 days to complete the job.

It went very well. Done on time , as planned, and done very well.

Had a new roof put on and they did an excellent job.

Seemed like nice people. I ordered ridge vents which they put on the house but failed to cut the vents. I guess they thought I would not check. They did come back quickly to cut the vents. When asked to check something else on the roof my child overheard them call me crazy. And they never followed up w me.

I have not done anything about it yet but they were fine and seemed to show up on time. It is looking like I might use them. I wish they were a little faster when they call.

The quote was a reasonable amount. It is not finalized yet because we are biting it out with our insurance company.

Considering the tornado, the lack of timeliness was understandable. I respected their honesty in telling us exactly what needed repaired and replaced. They did a really good job. They were the most expensive company, but they are a very established company. It was very hard to do a price comparison so we went with them thinking it was a smart financial decision considering the quality was likely the highest.

Weather Tamer gave an estimate and then gave an approximate time frame when they could start the work. The estimate seemed fair and they did exactly as promised. They came within the proposed time frame, did a very good job, and also cleaned up after the job. We are very pleased with the results, and there are no more leaks in the roof!!

Excellent professionalism. I interviewed and got quotes from 8 different roofers. This company was the only one that I actually invited into my home where we sat down and went over the quote. I highly recommend him. In fact they will be the only one that I call if I ever need their services in the future. They show up, they are respectful and clean up after. They do exactly what they say they will do. and the price and quality are well worth it!!

They came in and gave me an estimate. They got the roof done and after a week they came back to check. They gave me a five year warranty on top of the twenty year warranty. They will replace anything if something happens with the roof. I would recommend them to friends and family. They are very much perfect. The workers are very hardworking people. I absolutely love them. Their over all service is excellent.

They are very punctual and professional. They cleaned up their mess themselves. Everything is holding out well for me. I did have a problem and they came out and fixed it the very next day. They guarantee their work. I would rate them highly. I would use them again in the future.

I was very pleased with their work. I would definitely recommend them.

It took him forever to do the work. The roof leaked. He billed us twice. He said that he would come out three different times to patch the leaks. I would not recommend them to anyone. The paint started coming off from our ceiling due to the leak. He used weather as an excuse. It took him three to three and a half months to repair it. They used a blower to blow the snow off when they did the job. They were expensive. They were nice to talk to.

Weather Tamer was professional from start to finish. They came out on time, gave us a detailed estimate and went into detail on what would be involved. They called at the approximate time scheduled, showed up as scheduled and did the work in a professional manner. After they left, you could not tell they had been there. This was a big and difficult job. It was an A frame house on a hillside, a garage and a boat house that was difficult to get to. We were very satisfied with all aspects of the job. That is very unusual in construction today.

They did a really good job.. They were really nice people. We enjoyed them. David. who put in the windows was really nice and curteous.

They did an excellent Job! In fact it was the only roofer I allowed to actually come into my house. he sat down with us, took the time to answer all of our questions and give us all of our options. His quote for the roof was very reasonable and fair. and it was due to all these reason's we choose them. They did the roof 3-4 weeks later. The roofing team took care of every detail including clean up. I HIGHLY recommend this company!! Trust me!!! I've meet & checked out at least 8 other roofers in the tri-cities area before choosing Weather Tamer. In fact the next time I need anything they can assist me with they will be the first one's I call.

We liked them but our insurance company didn't use them because they said they were priced too high. They were professional. They were pricey and we would have had to have paid the difference and we weren't going to do that.

I would recommend them and they did a fine job. I was surprised at their high prices, however. They were professional and cleaned up fine. I will consider using them again in the future.

They were awesome. This company was fast, affordable and left a clean job site. I would use them again in the future.
