Lane Thompson is a growing heating & cooling business that provides sales, service and repairs in the TriCities area. We are a proud Trane Comfort Specialist Dealer, and are NATE and Manual J Certified. Our technicians are highly trained and undergo yearly training to be able to serve the ever changing products in the heating & cooling industry. We are licensed, bonded and insured. We provide service and repair to all types of heating & cooling units, we are an exclusive Trane equipment dealer. We are always available to our customers and do provide afterhour/emergency service.

We have only lived in the Kingsport area for 2 years. My contact folder is being built, so I looked to Angie's list for options. So glad I did! Our family policy is to get at least 3 estimates. After speaking with 4 local established companies, we had no problem choosing Lane Thompson. It was easy to get an initial meeting, during which time Franklin wore booties throughout our home. He listened to our needs and wanted to meet them, not oversell for his profit. His estimate on a Trane system came in lower than all the others. He was honest when asked about his schedule for installation. Being a smaller company, there was a couple of week wait for installation, however, he brought us a window unit to use during that time free of charge. He was first to mention reasons he would run new copper pipe that two other companies did not. The primary installer, Gordon, was meticulous with his craftsmanship. He answered all questions along the way and kept us informed. Everything was cleaned up before they left. At the end of service, our registered warranty was presented to us. Every team member we met was kind, non-threatening and respectful. Franklin even reminded me of the Angie's List coupon!

I have seldom met anyone as polite and easy to work with as Franklin Lane and his employees. They arrived as scheduled, protected our floors, removed the old units, and installed the new units in a day and a half. We were instructed on proper operation and answered all our questions. We would hire them again for any kind of heating and cooling operation.

We asked Franklin Thompson to come to our home to inspect our old HVAC unit that was on its last leg. Franklin was kind enough to meet with us late after we got off work (after he had put in a long work day himself.). After taking the time to look at our old units and look around the house and gather all the needed information , he wrote up an estimate on installing two new HVAC units. We didn't bother getting other quotes as we trust Frank and his team to do a professional job based on past dealing with them. His team were here working in our home for five days. Frank, Tina and Gordon are honest and hard workers. My husband and I are very pleased with the care they took to keep our home clean, show up on time and answer any concerns we may have. If you are searching for an honest , knowledgable and hard working team, you will be very pleased that you chose LANE THOMPSON HEATING & COOLING. Whether it's yearly maintenance, repairs or installing new units, you will not regret using this business. It's nice to know we have a dependable and honest HVAC provider. I called on a Saturday to have Mr. Thompson check out the non functioning AC on my multi family units. He came within two hours of my phone call. UnFortunately it was an electrical issue but he was prompt, courteous, and down to earth dude . He even gave me some advice to make my home more efficient. I have called several HVAC companies that Saturday and he was the most reasonable and fair priced person. I will certainly do business with him again.

They had to make two trips to fix our unit, but only charged us for one. (The first trip, the unit was frozen so Tina came later that afternoon to fix it once it had thawed.) Had to replace the compressor. They juggled their schedule to make sure we were taken care of before the weekend and without having to pay for an after-hours service call. Prompt, efficient, friendly - every good adjective you could use to describe this company applies.

Great ! Franklin Lane came out himself and personally checked out my unit the next day. He said everything was working fine and my wife said he was very polite. He didn't even charge us anything for the visit. I really appreicate him taking time out of his very busy schedule to check our unit. I will definitely use his company for future services. Very professional, arrived on time and actually was early which is unheard of for most companies. Tina was very detailed and explained some things to me on any questions I had. Gave me some tips and pointers to insure my unit continued to work properly. I would not hesitate to contact them for service work in the future.

I can't say enough about the service we received. The temperature outside was 90+ so having an inoperable unit was a big problem. Within 2 hours of the call they were at the house and diagnosing the problem, a malfunctioning condensate pump. He explained the issue and made a trip to retrieve a new pump. Cost was very reasonable especially considering it was a weekend call. Quick, efficient, professional service. Highly recommend to anyone in need of service.

The install went very well. Franklin Lane provided a team that did a great job completing the service exactly as promised. The team arrived on Monday and completed the install in two days, as well as some repair of duct work and a new vent for the gas furnace. We found the team to be very professional and friendly. We would recommend them for anyone else we know looking for heat and air; we also plan on continuing to use them to keep our new unit serviced.

Went over the top and answer all my questions and I leaned a lot about my system. I told them after they finished I was going to install a Nest system and they offered look at the wiring to see if it would work. They even tried to help me trace the wire going up to the thermostat. They did not think the Nest would work on my current wiring but the compatibility website showed it would. I wired it up and it worked right away. I was so happy with the level of service I received today and I will definitely use them again and also recommend them.

Franklin Lane made my experience of having to buy a new heat pump a great experience. Gordon and Tina from the crew were also excellent. Everyone was courteous and friendly. They took their time to share their knowledge and didn't try to sell me on a product that I didn't need. I was treated as a valued customer. They were always prompt and even a few minutes early. I really liked how they cleaned as they worked as there no mess left over from one day to the next. They showed sincere concern for my issues with the heat and humidity without air. They let me borrow a couple of window air conditioners to keep cool until they could get to my installation and complete the job. Franklin's communication skills was great and he was always good about returning my calls and keeping me informed of what was going to happen and when. It was a pleasure doing business with them, I would recommend them as the best of the best, and am enjoying my purchase.
