Three men worked. The owner/expert felled the large tree after removing three smaller trees to allow clean fall. A worker scaled the second tree (a live pine), carrying ropes, safety equipment, and climbing spikes, and a small chain saw. He removed one limb at a time until the trunk was bare except for the top 15 feet of the tree. He then cut off two 12 foot sections of the trunk and directed their fall away from obstacles. Then the final 18 feet was felled with the assist of two men and a guide rope. This live tree was located two feet away from a utility barn, 20 feet from a house, and on the line with adjoining property which was treated as off-limits. The live tree was dismembered and felled with no property damage, and all of the limbs and debris were carried out of the yard into a back wooded area as requested. I paid these men $150 above the agreed-to price, for the show.
