CENTRAL AUTO ELECTRIC

I've been to Central Electric in Blountville on several occasions over the years. Rick is very knowledgeable and I haven't found a problem that stumped him yet. It did take him a little bit to figure out this one, but I was at a total loss. The car was starting to misfire so I gave it a tune up. The car ran normally for a very short period, then started misfiring again. Turns out the cheap Chinese rotor button I bought had plastic that didn't provide enough insulation to prevent the spark from arcing through. Rick found a hairline crack where the arc had penetrated through the button. He bought a Japanese made rotor button that fixed the problem and sent me on my way. I was impressed. He may not always be the cheapest, but it's almost like he takes anything you bring him as a personal challenge.

I had taken my van to two other mechanics to solve an electrical problem. Neither could figure it out. The electrician who owns Central found the problem by being very persistent. It turned out to be some of the wiring that goes through the firewall. It was like a challenge for him to find the problem-and he did!
