I have mixed feelings about this store. But sadly their recent actions is what brought the star count down to 3, instead of 4. So my fiancé and I walk in to do some shopping, we need a few items for our new home and are looking to do some spending. Small eat-in kitchen table, entertainment center, office desk... eventually an upgrade to a kind bed, and a new dining room table as well. So, lots of potential money going into a good company. One of the sales clerks tracked us down as we were roaming, wasn't really a bother, but just wanted to check with us and also let us know that furniture was currently discounted. So to let her know what we were interested in and she'd get us a current price with discounts. This got our attention because we are in dire need of the desk and entertainment center quickly! We pick a few we like so she can price them, then wait patiently as she not only gets cost and time frame for delivery. First: She starts with delivery. "Looks like it'll be next week", this was a Wed or Thursday, so we were happy to hear this new!Second: Cost. We actually had to look at each other to figure out what change. We might have saved $20. Disappointing to say the least because the clerk had us hyped up, with the in-store discounts + military discounts, we were expecting at LEAST 20% off each piece we picked. Instead, it was more like 2% off each piece. While not thrilled, we did like the choices we made, and after online searching prior to shopping we knew we were at least getting a semi decent deal/cost compared to others. So we went ahead and made the purchase. Then (no more than 4 days later) we get a call from the sales clerk saying there had been a mistake and it would be yet another week before delivery could be accomplished. (hence the one less star) I'm a firm believer in what you promise the customer. If you say there will be a discount... I'd like to think it's a NOTICABLE discount. One that might even have the customer saying... "Wow! What a great deal!". And if you check the inventory/store and say, we'll deliver next week. Then, you should deliver next week, not 2 weeks later. Finally, at delivery. The furniture was already put together, while we were under the impression it would be assembled at residence. While this was fine for us, they should know how to navigate with the furniture when deliverying, or at least cover it for protection. They did minor marks, and damages, to the office wall/door when trying to get into the room. Then disregarded it when brought to their attention like their were not at fault.After delivery, we discovered that the keyboard drawer on the desk, was damaged (severly cracked down the entire right side). When we contacted Ashley's in reference to it, they said that it wasn't under their insurance/protection program so there was nothing they can do. But... it was JUST delivered. I fixed it myself with some strong adhesive glue, but that was poor service on their part. While I don't believe that is the case with all their furniture (the entertainment center was fine), that is still poor customer service on their part.
Description of Work: Purchased, and had delivered, a new desk and an entertainment center (the bottom piece, not the entire collection). Worked with the service/sales girl, and delivery crew.
