MISCELLANEOUS ELECTRICAL SERVICES, LLC.

Mike was very professional but very down to earth.  He came over to give an estimate and viewed all the work to be done.  He told me his hourly rate and a time range he believed it would take to complete the job.  We scheduled a date for the service, and he showed up on time, with an extra person, which was included in the price he quoted to me.  He did an exceptional job on the installation of the ceiling fans and made sure he pointed out to me any issues he experienced that might affect my satisfaction.  For instance, the box in the ceiling for one of the fans was not flush (a construction issue - nothing to do with Mike's work), so there was a slight gap between the fan and the ceiling.  I didn't even think it was noticeable, but he made it a point to make sure I knew about it. 
Long story short, the fans work perfectly and the service Mike provided was excellent.  I will definitely use him again for any future electrical needs.  He completed the job in the minimum amount of time he originally quoted, so the price was on the low-end of the range, which was a bonus. 
I would highly recommend Mike for any electrical work.  He is an honest person who knows what he is doing.

I previously had called another company and they scheduled an appointment for 9am - 12noon (with a $99 dollar service charge just to come to my house).  That company NEVER showed and NEVER called to say they weren't coming.  That day, I got on Angie's List and saw the wonderful reviews for Miscellaneous Electrical Services and decided to give him a call and see if he could come and take a look at my light switch.  He said he was very busy, but would try to squeeze me in between his other scheduled appointments.  I was surprised when he showed up and so happy he did!  He looked at my kitchen light switch (which was giving off a funny "buzzing" noise) and said he probably needed to replace the actual switch.  He looked more into the receptacle and saw the insulation wrapped around the wiring was starting to corrode (I live in a 1950's home), so he sheathed the wiring to protect it more.  He noticed my tile was brought down far enough to properly support my switch, so he placed a spacer to further help support the switch.  Not only did he fix the switch, I feel like he went above and beyond.  He rescued me, when that other company left me out to dry!  I will continue to give my business to Miscellaneous Electrical Services.  Thanks Mike!

Everything went according to plan, except that the whole receptacle box for the sprinkler control unit was found to be dangerously corroded and had to be closed off.

Mike was very courteous and professional throughout and we will definitely call him the next time we have a problem.

I called at 11AM and he was able to come out at 1PM to connect a pool light up I had already purchased. He was prompt, knowledgeable and quick. Overall a great experience! Will hire again!

The services were excellent.  I contacted him to do the work but I asked him if he would call my renter and set up the time and date with her since I didn't know about her schedule.  He called her the next day (Friday) to set up an appointment.  He even offered to go over on Saturday but she was busy and wouldn't be home.  He kept me in the loop about everything that was going on, and called me when work was completed to explain to me in detail what work was accomplished and the billing.  It turned out to be cheaper than I expected and that always makes me happy.

Came to house and gave estimate.  Came back 4 days later and installed everything in about an hour.  Work was excellent

Mike Wood was prompt both in when he came to evaluate the proposed work and when he arrived to do the work.  He is professional,kept us informed of any issues and performed the work within the stated time frame.  He was careful around our furniture and cleaned the work area very well.  The price he charged was fair and in line with the estimate.  I will use the company again.

I called Mike as a result of his reviews on Angie's List.  I had a large pendant in the foyer that was occasionally flickering off and on, plus a noisy fan and I needed to add a dimmer to a switch.  He came the next day to look over the job and gave me an estimate.  He came back quickly and did a great job.  I also asked him about more energy efficient bulbs for my recessed lights.  He gave me great information on some new recessed LED lighting and LED motion-detection outdoor flood lighting which could reduce my light bill after installation.   Mike is very knowledgeable, professional and fairly priced.  Thanks Mike.

I called him Monday and he told me he would come out on Wednesday between 9:00 and 10:00.  He showed up at 9:45. He was very professional and he handed me his card before he entered the house. He looked over the whole situation and verified the light fixture would work. He told me his charge and how he charged.  He was very professional and nice.

He did a really great job! He was on time, professional and I would use him again.

Mike was the 2nd electrician that I contacted; the first one, who came highly recommended, showed up twice, did some work, had a million excuses and never returned. So, I turned to Angie's list and found Mike.

Mike came and went through the whole house to see what I wanted done. He made suggestions for other work (totally my choice, I took some suggestions and put off others) and made an appt to come back.

Mike showed up a little late on the day that he was supposed to come - however, he and I had spoken the day before and he did inform me that it might happen - so I have no complaints. He worked most of the day and my husband and I finally encouraged him to leave at 5:00 - because we knew that he was not feeling well and, because he charges by the hour, with no 'show up' fee, we could wait. We all made a new date for him to come by and he was back on time to finish the work.

Mike had to drill a hole through MB bathroom to get to MB closet - to make an electical receptacle for an ironing board we were having installed - he told me exactly what he'd be doing and what he would have to wait and see - where joists are in the wall - and based on that he would put the new receptacle. What was GREAT is that he was willing to talk to the guy who was installing the closets, over the phone, to coordinate where to place the new receptacle. That in and of itself was great.

Mike is very neat and cleans up after himself. He's very polite and let's the customer know exactly what he'll be doing. The total bill was a bit higher than I had wanted, but that was mostly due to extra items that I decided to purchase - which he supplied at cost. I will hire Mike again when I need more electrical work done - and we all know that I will!

I called Mike early in the morning and explained my problem.  He showed up the same day.  He surveyed the situation and wired the cooktop. I was afraid that a new line would have to be run from the service panel but Mike indicated otherwise.  He did not try to sell me on something I did not need.  He appears to be very knowledgeable and is a pleasure to work with. It was nice to find a contractor that believes in and delivers outstanding customer service. 

Mike came on time and completed the work as indicated making our house safer. As he reviewed the wiring, he found an additional problem in the switch box. He completed this repair and installed two boxes over the door so we can add sconce lights. He was knowledgable and professional in his work. He cleaned up his work area well. 

He did a great job, was on time and very neat and also very nice.I would use him again.

Went just as I thought it should.

I was very pleased with his work.  I felt that he gave me a fair price for the work that he did.

Michael came out to my residence once before due to my ceiling fan and lighting not working in the main bathroom.  He was hoping the original solution resolved the problem, but it didn't.  He came out immediately, and after further investigation found out in another switch box, the wire nut, and wiring was burnt.  He explained to me, when houses are built, sometimes electricians want to get in and out so they try to complete the job rapidly.  This was my case.  He showed me how the wiring was done, and told me what I should do to fix it. (In all the other outlets and switches).  He said he could do it, but if I felt comfortable (which I do) then I could do it myself.  (rather than having me, pay him).
The other majow job I had done was to have a floodlight installed on my rear porch.  (As a note, one was originally installed by ARS, but in my opinion in the end, they did a horrible job).  I explained to Michael what ARS did, and he couldn't believe it.  All I have to do now is flick a switch.  He also installed a remote for my rear porch fan.  The majority of what I spent was for the floodlight and the remote (as he had to undo everything ARS did).
But in the end, although he was here over 3 hours, it was well worth it!  A great QUALITY job!
 

After installation much more spent than anticipated - fan switch prired faulty & had to return to change out new switch. Slow pace and left old debris in yard & garage for owner to discard, communication very sketchy & did not call prior to visits, so missed 2 days appointments.

Mike was very nice, informative and professional. Identified the issues very quickly and fixed everything within 2 hours. Gave us some great advice, too.

We had lightning strike a pine tree right behind our house that resulted in a computer, cable modem, router, printer and battery backup unit all being fried. I had suspicions that the outlet that I was using in my office was not working properly, then we had a power surge during the recent icy weather and lost another cable modem. I had discussed the problem with Mike last month but couldn't afford to have the work done then. I called Mike yesterday and said I really needed to get this situation fixed. He came at 1 o'clock this afternoon and when he checked the outlet in the office found that it was wired backwards and not grounded. He put in a new outlet and checked the grounding rod at the breaker box. It looked like it might be a good idea to replace it, so I told him to go ahead and do it. I also felt like the service to the office was inadequate for my needs and I needed a good grounded outlet for my computer and battery backup. Mike recommended running a new service line to the office. He put in a new circuit breaker and his helper ran wire through the attic into the office and put in a duplex outlet. Now I have 4 grounded outlets in the office and I have a dedicated circuit just for my computers and office equipment. No more extension cords!
