There was a $75. trip charge and if I had used their 12 AA batteries, I would have been charged an additional $20. I felt this was a pricey service charge, but Eric was able to correct additional problems that Shades & Draperies had not been responsive to since I purchased the Silhouetes from them last October. Therefore, I was extremely satisfied with this service and felt it was money well-spent. Eric's skills - factory trained - made all the difference and his willingness to explain what he was doing so I could understand was a big plus. |

The whole experience was easy & pain-free, we saw an AD in the newspaper & visited the showroom. The inside sales rep. was helpful. Both appointments (measure & install) were smooth, punctual & as expected. Delivery was sooner than estimated, entire staff was nice & easy to work.

Excellent. This is the third time I have used Shades & Shudder Expo in the past 5 years. Danny & Julie, the owners, are always helpful and deliver on their promises. Their crew showed up on time, asked for my preferences on how I wanted the shades positioned, & cleaned up when they were done. They are very professional, knowledgable, and have done a great job each time they've been here. The windows look great. The prices for their brand, Hunter Douglas, is a little expensive when compared to DIY brands, but they are very good quality shades and, in my opinion, are worth the extra cost. I highly recommend them & would use them again.

The crew that came (4 men lead by Chip Tyler) were very professional and courteous as they worked. They even showed up early to start sooner. Our front door shade was incorrect. Chip is working on getting it corrected as soon as possible. A few adjustments needed to be made. It was done quickly and correctly.

We purchased Hunter Douglas sheer blinds (Nantucket) through Shade & Shutter Expo. Hunter Douglas did them no favors by providing products that did not perform as they should. The "LiteRise" feature did not work with 2 of 3 windows. After 2 attempts to correct the problem, we decided to go with the "UltraGlide" feature instead. Even then the feature did not work the same on the two replacement blinds.
To their credit, Eric, the Shade & Shutter Expo installer, persisted throughout until everything was working properly. Thankfully it took only 1 try with the inside shutters we had installed in the master bathroom.

We have a screened porch on a west facing canal house. Sun is brutal in afternoon. Visited a friend who had these shades. Called company and they custom made what we needed.

I bought blinds when my new home was built in 2006. Approximately three years later I began having trouble with the blinds opening and closing. In 2015 I bought porch shades and was told by the sales person that they would fix those blinds when they installed the porch shades. The installer tried but could not fix the blinds, whereas he said the owner would come because he was more familiar with those blinds. The owner did not come or call so I called and was told by the receptionist that he would contact me the next day. He did not call. I contacted another company about removing those blinds and installing plantation shutters. He told me that the company that made those blinds was no longer in business. It is probably because of poor quality and service.

"We called [Member name removed] today to apologize for the miscommunication - We relayed to him that because the company that made his blinds is out of business , it is sometimes hard to find replacement parts but that we do have them now and are able to fix them. He said he does have an estimate from someone else for new blinds. We let him know that we can still either fix them or replace as well. He said he would let us know. It is not our intention to ever let anyone fall through the cracks ,but unfortunately it happens and we are always ready to correct it. We hope that [Member name removed] decides to call us back and let us finish the job."

"We are sorry that [member name removed] seems to have had such a bad experience with our company. In this case we did what was asked and finished the job as it was ordered by the customer. [member name removed] wanted to make changes afterwards and we were in the process of re-doing what she wanted changed but due to health issues on her part , it was repeatedly delayed. We have tried several times to contact her by e-mail and phone. On 12/4/13 , after several phone call attempts, we emailed her to try to schedule an appointment. No response. On 12/31/13 she contacted our website to say she needed to finish the job. We called and tried to schedule but she was out of town and due to health reasons she would call us back. We have made several attempts to finish the changes she requested on this job but we cannot get the customer to make an appointment."
