It was a horrible experience. Do not bring anything to him. Not even a Toaster! He guaranteed his work and said he stands behind his work and word. Read what he did and you decide if he did or didn't. The mower fell apart the first day I used it since he supposedly repaired it.
Description of Work: I brought my ride on lawnmower to L&R, August of last year for a belt replacement. I brought it in August as per the request by Richard Grantham/owner because he said he was backed up and if I was finished mowing and I could wait, It would help him greatly. I have a power mower so I thought if I had to mow again, I would use it. When I went back a week or so later to pick it up he gave me a bill for $238.00 and some change. He said it needed more than a belt. The carrier needed missing springs, it needed a new belt and he had to put in a new drive wheel because the one in it was broken. He never once called to ask me about the additional repairs. I never used it again until yesterday. While mowing the belt fell off again and when I put the mower on lifts, the wheel he said he replaced was broken so the belt would fall off. I went back today 4/11/2013 to explain what happened. He told me he has a 30 day warranty period and there was nothing he could do. I explained why I brought it late last season and I never used it until yesterday. He just looked at me and repeated his 30 day warranty period and if I wanted, bring it in and he would look at it but he would charge me. He also said his prices went up so it may cost me more. I said to him how do you do business? He said he didn't recognize me and this was after we had talked more than once about Viet Nam. He boasts on his card he is a Viet Nam veteran. We spoke for the better part of an hour and he promised being I was a Viet Nam vet he would have it fixed completely. Now he said to me he doesn't remember and then he again told me about his 30 day warranty. I asked him if he was telling me I wasted $238.00 he said "I don't know what to tell you." Then I heard about the 30 days AGAIN! I would not recomend him, his work, or his honesty. Why...because I know he recognized me because of the way he acted when I first walked in. His demeanor changed when I told him about the mower. He suddenly had amnesia.
