"We were quite disappointed to see this feedback. When we first spoke, it was mentioned that you had initially tried Craigs List to find a plumber, and that you were unhappy and concerned that they were not properly licensed and/or insured. We offered to come to your home to look at the job at no cost to you. Andy was on-time for his appointment, and quite frankly, we were disappointed to see two other plumbing companies there to look at the same job. Andy looked over what you wanted to have done, specifically, adding a small bathroom in your garage. He was informed that you were on a tight budget, and that you would be doing some of the work yourselves. Quite often we work side by side with homeowners on their projects where their scope of work does not overlap with our scope of work. When Andy returned to the office, we discussed your project at length. Due to the nature of the project, mainly unforeseen complications and your tight budget, we felt it best to decline this job. Even under best circumstances, costs can run over. In your particular situation, there were many unknowns such as where the drain lines were, and where we would tap into them from your garage, as well as not knowing how deep your lines were. After discussing the project with Andy, he called and left a message on an answering machine. Perhaps he inadvertently misdialed. In order to offer the best warranties and deliver exceptional service, we hire the best employees and use the best parts available to us. Our philosophy is that no one saves any money if a repair does not hold up as long as is expected. It may cost a little more on the front end, but we promise the additional cost spent on professional grade parts will save you greatly in the long run. Long time ago I saw a quote “Good plumbing ain’t cheap, and cheap plumbing ain’t good.” Though it is grammatically incorrect, the thinking behind it is absolutely the truth. As a homeowner myself, it was always a pet peeve of mine when workmen entered my home tracking dirt everywhere (as if they didn’t know what the door mat was for) - especially since I was the ‘cleaning lady.’ It’s one of the reasons I insist that our plumbers always be mindful that they are working in someone’s home, and that proper precautions are taken to protect the work area.
