I had a dead tree in my back yard and it had a limb that fell off into my yard. When I called Charleston Stump Stompers, I was given the ability to choose the week in which I could receive the the service. I was given the exact information as to what will happen in the process. Chris Nicholas asked me what I needed and was able to provide me with an option that allowed me to replant a tree in the area in which they were going to remove the dead tree. I was out of town when they provided the service but when I came home the next day, they had done a fantastic job and they left no clue that they were ever in my yard. The only difference is that the dead tree was gone. This company kept me informed, met their promises, and gave me the results that were more than my expectations. I would proudly endorse this company to anyone.

Dennis came by to give a quote in early January - their quote was the least expensive. When the scheduled day came, Dennis and crew were punctual and efficient. We were very pleased with their work and will be calling them again soon to take care of our palms.

I have used them twice. Their cleanup was very good. The price was good. They were the least expensive. I was satisfied.

I used another company because of price. The other company was not the low bid, but had recently did work for my best friend and he was completely satisified. I was also completely satisified. Will call Charleston Stomp Stompers to bid on future work.

This company was prompt, and the second I went out to the yard they were already done, and I had received a quote. They were very quick easy, and professional.

Chris Nicholas is a very professional individual, and his crew are very conscientious, hard-working employees. They had to remove three sections of fencing to do the work, and put it back up so well that one would never know it had been touched. The whole crew took the utmost care with my property and left everything in great shape. While the cost was a bit high, their estimate was lower than two others I obtained. Given the professionalism of this company and the quality of the work performed, I would definitely recommend them.

I got quotes from five different companies and Stump Stompers was the high bid. I got a card from them later that said they would drop their estimate but it was still above the next highest bid. The representative from the company was extremely professional, responsive, and polite. He came one time, described his work, and explained everything.

Chris, the owner, and his wife Jayne came to do the estimate and they were very attentive and pleasant to talk to. They made sure to assess underlying issues and take note of them during the estimate (we have lots of utility lines in our front yard, where one of the trees was located). Since the work requested was a small job, and there were weather issues, the work did not take place for a few weeks. The work ended up being done on a Sunday morning; Chris had contacted us the previous Friday to make sure that would work for us. Chris and his job supervisor came by early Sunday morning to review the work and make sure requirements and concerns were discussed. When the crew arrived, they were very efficient and professional; they made short work of both trees and the clean-up involved. They even got some extra business from a neighbor who needed a small tree removed - when he saw the crew he came over to ask them about what he needed.

Wonderful. We met and discussed the effect wanted. They did detailed work. All of it was done without any mess or concer.

The "trash tree" that they removed was actually growing in my neighbor's yard, but had intertwined into the chain-link fence and was protruding into my yard. I am planning to install a privacy fence, and this tree was in the way. After getting the agreement from my neighbors, Chris and Jayne agreed to do the job. They warned me that they would have to cut the fence in order to properly remove the tree. They only removed the bare minimum necessary to access the tree, and they connected it back together using bale wire so that it remains effective as a fence until I get my privacy fence installed. Chris and Jayne also made recommendations for maintaining two live oaks on my property - I feel that they are very knowledgeable and concerned about their customers' property. I will definitely call on them again for tree maintenance.

They showed up when promised. Trimmed several trees to improve not only their appearance but, also overall health. They removed two badly damaged trees and cleaned up after themselves. The team performed all of the services discussed and did it well. They removed my mailbox to prevent it from being damaged and forgot to replace it. I called Chris and the mailbox was back in place within the hour.

They were very professional and underbid the competition by a significant amount. They communicated well and completed the job quickly.

We needed several oaks on our property pruned and thinned. Chris Nicholas (the owner) came to our house and did a thorough walk-through the day after I initially contacted him. He listened carefully to what we wanted to have done and suggested other items to address. He gave us a quote that was on par with others that we received. His professionalism however, is what persuaded us to use his services. He was prompt, courteous, and easy to talk to. The day before the scheduled job, Chris called to confirm his team's arrival time. The next morning, right on time, they arrived on the scene. They showed up with two bucket trucks, a huge chipper, and various other tools of the trade. Chris introduced me to several members of his crew then got right to work instructing them exactly what was to be cut. Unfortunately, I had to leave for work and didn't get to witness all the climbing and cutting. My wife said it was quite a thing to see. When I arrived home and saw the finished product I was quite impressed. The trees had been pruned exactly as we had discussed. The only evidence that anyone had been in our yard was a bit of sawdust where Chris's crew removed a 3 foot diameter limb (another tree really) that was growing from the base of our largest oak. It is amazing how much more open and clean our oaks now look. Interesting note: during the work one of our large terracotta flower pots was broken. While the crew were cleaning up, one of the men went out and replaced it with a brand new one. That's good business.

I called for estimate. Mr. Nicholas returned call within the hour. We made appointment to meet at my house and he could do this after my work which was after 5:00 p.m. I discussed need for more light filtration as lawn was not getting enough sunlight due to trees. He requested we walk through property and he discussed each tree and what could be done. He described what effect this would have and what street appeal/view would be. He was very professional, listened to my inquiries and made suggestions for future growth and maint. He explained exactly what limbs he was going to cut and why. He explained removal of trees and what effects it would have afterwards. I was very impressed. I waited for 2 other estimates and Mr. Nicholas had the best plan, estimates were similar. We agreed of date to perform. He called the day before to remind and pending visit and again went over plan which he had written out. His team came in, performed the work flawlessly and as he described. His men were professional, knew what they were doing and left not a twig on the ground. These were not immigrant workers and Mr. Nicholas has had these men for a while as evidenced by thier pride and workmanship. Mr. Nicholas called me after I had a day to review work and we settled the financial aspect. He even came over to collect.
