I had a boring, builder grade kitchen with an awkward island and vinyl floors and laminate counters. Daniel Jones came out and I told him my ideas. CSI made my idea come to life. They moved my island around and made a more functional l-shaped counter with the existing island. We added granite counter tops, a new sink (awesome black), faucet, chomping garbage disposal, beautiful ceramic tile floors, moved some lights and installed a beautiful ceiling fan and pendant lights. I had a design idea they had never seen or done before but I had in a previous home, so I told them exactly what I wanted and they made it happen. I like the fact that even though they had never done anything like what I wanted before, they were willing to learn and figure it out and it came out looking exactly as I wanted and completely awesome. My kitchen looks like something you would see in a magazine now. I would totally use CSI again for future construction projects.
They showed up on time every day, were professional, polite and friendly. The project went exactly according to our contract and was done on time and on budget. I even changed something at the very end of the project and they rolled with it and did what I asked. It made all the difference in my backsplash and I am so happy with the end result!
My new kitchen ROCKS!!! thanks CSI :)When work began the project manager was Joe, Daniel's brother. He was the point of contact from the demo till the last gutter was put on. And everything was done smooth and seamless. The entire crew was very nice and respectful even taking time out to give assistance around the house. They battled the wind, rain, snow, ice, more snow, and still finished the project on time and on budget (despite my many last minute changes). Their attention to detail approach to construction allowed them to work not just quickly but more important efficiently. When challenges arose, as they do in any construction project, they were addressed and resolved before they could become an issue.
So to sum it all up, there is no one else in Columbia that i would call for any construction needs. CSI has won my customer loyalty and I'm sure they will do the same for you.
All went well. His estimated the cost to gut my kitchen and was higher than another bid. Knowing both contractors came well recommended; I went with the lower bid.
From beginning (including bidding process) to end the experience was exceptional. We have an unusual house line which needed to be considered when developing the plan. We also wanted the finished product to appear to have always been a part of the house and not an addition. In looking for a provider, we needed someone that had a vision of what could be done (for we were not sure of all of our options) as well as the expertise to implement the vision. After interviewing several (3) companies, Steven and Daniel Jones presented the best plan and implementation strategy.
The team of workers--framers, brick masons, carpenters-were professional and took pride in their work. They were most courteous and worked hard from the time they arrived in the morning (8am) until it was time to leave (4:30-5:00) in the afternoon. It was amazing to watch how meticulous each group was with their particular job. Steven was on sight every day and made sure each team understood their task. The work ethic of all involved with this project was phenomenal. I was always kept in the loop and always consulted on decisions that needed to be addressed-no matter how small. No assumptions were made as to what we wanted.
Steven is very detailed. Brick and mortar for the support columns needed to be matched as closely as possible to that of our 16 yr old house. That line of thinking would probably be fairly standard in seasoned builders. However, he also took into consideration how the brick columns needed to be configured so that the "look" from the backyard to the deck and house was angularly pleasing AND complimented the angles of the roof line. Throughout the whole process, details such as this were being implemented.
Steven and Daniel are good listeners and make sure they understand the wishes of their customers. We had picked out a railing that we thought would be good. Material wise it was fine. However, Steven picked up the reoccurring theme of how we wished to use our deck, and suggested style wise it may not be the best choice and explained why. Had he not been listening to our vision when we were discussing our dream deck, we may have ended up with something not quite as we imagined.
Due to the weather this summer, there were some days that work could not be done. However, to meet timelines or to make up time so they would not get behind, they would work a Saturday OR stay longer on good weather days. I have pictures of them installing the wrought iron railing in the pouring rain. As long as there was not thunder, work continued. The work sight was cleaned up at the end of each day. Supplies were stacked neatly. The port o potty was serviced weekly so there was never an offensive odor. It all went incredibly smoothly.
This was a pricey venture, however, their bid was inline with others and we did make a major change that did impact the price. Without a doubt, we got what we paid for. I know we were lucky to have had the experience we did and I would highly recommend Construction Specialties of Columbia. You need to at least include them when seeking estimates! I know I am late in submitting this review. I just needed a chunk of time for I wanted to do them justice.
I would recommend them to anyone considering any type of remodeling because their approach is impeccable. Remodeling is a stressful event, but Construction Specialties did everything possible to minimize the stress and inconvenience. The crew always left the house clean and without debris. They made sure demolition work was cleared quickly.
Bottom line-----if you have a remodeling job and you want results that are excellent in every regard---hire this team!
Bottom line: Construction Specialties is highly recommended for quality work. They have an expert crew of real craftsmen at their disposal and there was never any issue with the quality of their work. I will definitely use them again.
which delivers not only to the specifications of the contract but on all promises and strives to ensure that you are extremely satisfied with the work at all phases of their work.
We were extremely pleased with all phases of this project and the people that came on site for Construction Specialties. In order to meet an aggressive time line, Construction Specialties started the demolition of our old concrete patio on a Saturday and had it down and in dumpsters ready to be hauled away in less than a day. Foundation and framing went as smoothly and quickly as well with the only concerns were expressed were from the workmen about the loss of our grass, where the addition was going. We had two windows in our existing home that had to be taken out, due to the new addition being part of its interior wall structure. One window
was on a sheet rock wall and replaced with sheet rock and you cannot tell there was ever a window there as the drywall workmanship throughout is superior. The window with the 30 year old grooved paneling, the paneling was matched as well the paint on the existing wall and you cannot tell the window was replaced on this wall as well.
In summary, we are extremely satisfied with the work from Construction Specialties did for us. They sat down with us and listened to our needs and expectations, came back with design proposals. Again, listened to us on what we liked and didn?t like about their roposal, went off and made some adjustments and came back with updated proposal. Once we were in agreement, they began almost immediately and kept to if not exceeding all schedules and expectations. This is a quality organization that has top level professional quality people and is extremely concerned about satisfying you. Throughout this project I cannot recall the number of times I was asked how I thought things were going or if I was satisfied not only by the owner of Construction Specialties but by the individuals that were on site at that point in time, be it the framer, painter, mason, drywallers, etc. Everyone is committed to the delivery of a quality product and concerned about your time line.
