First, I called the shop and was told I would get a call back to schedule the piano tuning. I didn't receive a call back for 2 weeks. Once I was called back, the tuning was scheduled very quickly, and he asked if he could come within the hour. When he arrived, he had brought his wife or friend along who was extremely talkative and not very professional. They were very nice, it was just a bit strange. The cost for the work done seemed higher than what I had originally been quoted by the store when I called and I had the feeling that they were going to run straight to the bank with my check. This company would do well to spend a little time teaching common courtesy so that clients are provided with a little more confidence in the service they are receiving.

FIRST OF ALL I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE MEMBER FOR FILING THIS REPORT. IT HELPS US CONTROL OUR BUSINESS AND PRESENT OURSELVES IN THE FASHION THAT WE DESIRE. ABOUT PIANO TUNING: TODAY IT IS VERY HARD TO MAINTAIN A PIANO TUNER ON THE PAYROLL. MOST OF PIANO TUNERS ARE INDEPENDENT, AND USUALLY FORM A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CUSTOMER AT THE TIME OF THE FIRST TUNING. MOST CUSTOMERS WILL CALL THE TUNER DIRECTLY THE SECOND TIME. MOST DEALERSHIPS LIKE MINE FORM RELATIONSHIPS WITH TECHNICIANS, AND REFER SERVICE WORK OUT TO THEM AT NO CHARGE. IT IS GOOD THAT THE MEMBER AND OTHERS KEEP US INFORMED, SO THAT WE CAN ASSOCIATE OURSELVES WITH THE MOST PROFESSIONAL TECHS. RESPONSE: THE MEMBER CALLED IN FOR A TUNING ON 9-18-06. I PROMPTLY TURNED THE CALL OVER TO ONE OF OUR ASSOCIATES. FEELING CONFIDENT THAT HE WOULD GET IN TOUCH WITH THE MEMBER VERY QUICKLY I WENT ON WITH OTHER THINGS IN MY BUSINESS. I DIDN'T SEE THIS PARTICULAR TECHNICIAN FOR TWO WEEKS, AND IT WAS AT THAT TIME THAT I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD TUNED THE MEMBER'S PIANO. HE EXPLAINED THAT HE HAD BEEN ILL AND WAS BEHIND IN HIS WORK. HE AND I AGREED WE SHOULD TURN THE JOB OVER TO ANOTHER ASSOCIATE. ON 10-2-06, I TURNED THE MEMBER'S SERVICE REQUEST OVER TO ANOTHER TECHNICIAN THAT IS UNSIGHTED. FROM THIS REPORT I GATHER THAT HE DID THE SERVICE PROMPTLY.
