Tech Service Heating and Cooling

Tech Service in Conway, SC installed our heat pump system in February 2016, and we subsequently signed a contract with them for spring/fall preventative maintenance, paying for both after the fall servicing. We have never had problems with the system, and only learned yesterday, from another HVAC company, that they did an excellent installation job. However, the service portion of their business has had problems. They did not return several calls last fall, and they never called to schedule the spring maintenance (after waiting 8½ months, I called them in mid June). Their new spokesman admitted that they have had scheduling and other problems for many months, but when I stated our desire to go with another company because of this, he refused to refund our spring payment. He was argumentative and unapologetic about the poor service, but agreed to discuss the issue with the owner and call back. He never did, so it was impossible to work things out with them. We hired another company, and they were extremely professional. In summary, Tech Service did a quality installation, but their dealings with us were extremely poor. There are HVAC companies with excellent installation AND service capabilities, so we would not recommend Tech Service.
