LESLIE'S SWIMMING POOL SUPPLIES

As a new homeowner with a swimming pool, I went to Leslie's for some advice on pool maintenance.  I advised the technician that I was a first-time owner of a swimming pool and needed his advice on maintaning the pool myself.  He assured me they would assit me and guide me through the process.  He gave me a bottle to gather water from the pool for testing.  When I brought the water back, he tested it and shared the results, but then commenced to show me the most expensive items in the store, including the most expensive machine for vacumming.  I had to ask about less expensive options, which he reluctantly showed me.  I felt exploited!  Leslie's is off my list of trusted vendors of pool supplies.  They seem only interested in selling you expensive items that you may or may not need.  I got little or no advice from them on actually maintaining the pool, althought no one else was in the store at the time.  To bad as I value a vendor I can trust to sell me only what I need.  Leslie's lost a potential lifetime customer.

It went fairly for the little time I spent there. I noticed the prices were too much for me and my budget so I left. I actually found a better service provider through Angie's List to service my pool needs. They were about an hour away in Sumter, SC and I am from Columbia, SC. I checked all the pool servicers here in Columbia and none of them had good reviews. The company's name is Waterworks and they do a very good job as far as customer service go but I did have problems with the people who came out weekly to clean and balance the chemicals in the pool. I have gone through four different cleaners from Waterworks and I know now to go out and check your pool before the person leaves. They were adding chemicals but was not vacuuming the pool each time. The person I have this time has been doing ok but I noticed that his machine was leaving what appeared to be skid marks on the liner. If this doesn't go right then I will go back to cleaning my own pool.

Terrible customer service

They are very good telling you about your chemicals and sending advertisements. They sell chemicals and give good advice and information on it. I get the water tested there every 2 weeks. They don?t charge me for it. I would continue to use them in future.

I went to the store to see about various chemical systems, not intending to buy anything but found chlorine on sale. In the past I had used 3 inch chlorine tablets, but after being told the difference between those tablets and the heavier more expensive ones and having the cost calculated for the winter season, I ended up buying the more expensive tub. He carried it out to the car for me and promised that if it didn't last as long as he predicted, he would supply me with more to end the season. It was a very pleasant experience.
