James came to our residence last fall to sweep our fireplace chimney and oil furnace chimney. He and his fellow worker were very professional, neat and courteous. James pointed out to me where the flue tile was broken and missing where the boiler pipe breaches the chimney flue. He strongly recommened to fix this by installing a stainless steel liner. I got another estimate and James was easily the best price. When I emailed him about doing the job he was very prompt and came out within two days. I will be using James in the future when it is time to sweep our chimneys.

He had glowing recommendations online from Angie's List, which is why we chose them. He responded when I called him, explained to me that he was very busy and would get back to me. He did get back to me, and within a day, he completed the job. We had an excellent experience overall!

James arrived for the appointment on time and quickly got to work. Upon inspection of our chimney, James found that he had correctly diagnosed the draft problem over the phone. Armed with the correct equipment, James was able to replace the faulty chimney flue immediately.
James is extremely knowledgeable and informative. It is clear that he loves his business. James seems to know chimneys inside and out. He's our chimney guy from here on!

James provided estimates for his services over the phone and I felt the prices were competitive so I went ahead and scheduled an appointment. It should be noted that it took a little bit longer than expected to receive a call back from James after my initial call. I DID NOT see this as a negative because if someone is in high demand and constantly busy, to me, it means they are doing something RIGHT. IF YOU ARE PATIENT YOU WILL BE PLEASED. I ended up having to change the date of the appointment and James was very accommodating. He and his assistant showed up promptly at nine, which was our scheduled appointment time. Upon arriving at my house James and his crew were very polite and informed me of everything they would be doing and how long it would take to complete the job. He was more than willing to answer all of my questions and knowing that I was new to the area he went one step further by telling me specifically where to go to obtain the supplies locally (Seacoast and Cranston Masonry). That was huge to me because I am a firm believer in buying local first.
Within one hour and fifteen minutes of arriving I had a printed invoice in my hands and the job was done. I was more than pleased. James and his crew came and went without leaving any soot, dirt, or debris anywhere in the house. Since he was both professional and polite I would highly recommend him and his services and plan on using him in the future.

Mr. Perrault came exactly when he said he would, quoted me an excellent price and inspected my whole system. He charged $99 for the sweep of the wood burning fireplace flue and $20 to fill in cracks in my concrete cap (I knew I had them) with an elastomeric compound. He also noted after our recent heavy rains that the whole of the fireplace (brick and mortar) needed to be sealed from the outside with some sealant (he recommended Behr sealant which lasts 5-7 yrs, as opposed to the cheaper stuff which you need to apply every year). I was aware of this as well and he confirmed my suspicions. The whole process took about 45 minutes and he left my living room quite clean, as he had found it. I will definitely use him next year! Highly recommended!!!

THEY CAME AND CLEANED MY FIREPLACE AND CHIMNEY.THEY DID IT IN A WAY I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE THEY SWEPT UP THE CHIMNEY FROM THE FIREPLACE INSTEAD OF FROM THE TOP DOWN. THEY SAID IT'S MUCH CLEANER AND LESS DUST THIS WAY.THEY CAME TO CLEAN BOTH FLUES IN MY CHIMNEY BUT THEY SAID THE FLU FOR MY FURNACE DIDN'T NEED TO BE CLEANED SO THEY CHARGED ONLY HALF OF THE QUOTED PRICE.

James was contacted about a damaged stove vent pipe. He inspected the pipe and provided a quote for the repairs. Cost was very reasonable. He did complete the repairs on a different date and the result looks fantastic - and the stove is operating very well. He took the time to answer questions and ensured the stove was working properly at the end of the repair job.

Jim was always on time and communicated precisely regarding the work that was needed, how much it would cost and how long it would take. He's very knowledgeable and professional when dealing with his customers. I'm planning to have him return to do further work in the next month or two.

I called the vendor left a message and he called the next day. I told him I neeeded a Chimney Cap he took my address and said he would go buy the next day and call me with a estimate. I didn't expect a call from him the very next day because it rained all day- guess what he went out in the rain and called. I gave him the okay and the next week it done. Great service !!!!!!

We bought a new house and wanted the 2 chimneys inspected and cleaned. He inspected our boiler chimney and told us it was in good shape, and he swept the fireplace chimney. Also fixed the opening to the flue (it would not open all the way) free of charge. Nice work, was easy to schedule, and very professional.

I emailed this person to find out how much they charged and when they would be able to come out. He emailed me with the price, and said he would be able to fit us in friday morning around 9 am (this morning). I emailed him back to confirm. Never showed, never called, never returned messages. I left a message saying we were all set with his services. I totally understand that things happen and he may not have made it on time, but a phone call or email would make up for that..not calling to inform us of running late, not being able to show etc is unprofessional and I would not reccommend using him.

"I had no phone or #'s to call when Truck was on road stuck, I emailed this customer at end afternoon, as soon as I was near computer to send email.(Not everyone has a Webphone.) Explaining I had truck problem that morning and offered another appointment. My Reviews show that I am always ontime. I did send a very opoligetic email and I Never recieved an email in return, Now I know why. once again I AM SORRY, but trucks brake down and have flats...Thats the real world... I am a 1 man 1 truck business. this is also why my price's are cheaper than almost all my competetors. Hope they can someday understand, I guess this will be my 1st bad review."

Jim is EXCELLENT !! I initally called Jim as I was in the market to replace my entire chimney as I was told by prior contracts that it is required to be entirely replaced. Jim showed up on time. Upon full inspection he noted that the entire chimney was not required to be replaced and that the only section that required replacement was my support "T" at the end of the metal stack. This saved me over $1400 as other companies that came out were only interested in replacing the entire chimney. I authorized Jim to do the work he came out and on time. He early both appointments. He completed a VERY througugh job and educated me a tremendous amount on my wood stove. Jim is a GEM and there are not even "Jim's out there his prices are beyond reasonable and he is out to keep all happy while making a living. I STRONGLy suggest using Jim over any other chimney services in Rhode Island.
