Our heat began to fail on New Years Eve, 2014, due to a potentially failed fire box or clogged furnace, with smoke invading every corner of our home! Wayne Hawkins answered the call on New Year's day and was immediately responsive to our urgent need. He was able to promise service the next morning, and arrived promptly, quickly diagnosed the problems, and returned after a brief leave to retrieve the needed components and tools. He provided an accurate estimate, coupon offer, with a cordial demeanor and pleasant rapport. Do not be intimidated by his large presence, since his heart and service are as big as he! Thank you Wayne, and keep up the good work.

In the end, one of my kids had turned off the basement switch to the furnace. It was a simple fix, but Matt still waited around for the house to heat back up, just to make sure that we would definitely have heat that night. When I went to pay, Matt told me that he wasn't charging me! What amazing service to come out after hours on a holiday weekend and not even charge me!!!! I will definitely be hiring Matt for all my future heating needs.

They showed up on time. Their quote was 3 times as much as the other quotes that I received that day.

From the reviews this looks like a good company. I just had difficulty getting them to follow up on there appointment for an estimate. Maybe they are so busy they did not need the work

The job was done professionally, the service call was prompt, and the guy was very courteous. However, I found out after the repair service that the capacitor that he had quoted as costing $175 could be purchased online for $27. Needless to say, I was shocked that the labor (which took no longer than 15-30 min tops) for the replacement was almost $150. I called the next day and explained that the communication had been unclear. I had been led to understand that the capacitor part cost was $175. I am very happy to pay for good labor, but feel as though as I have been taken advantage of. The woman on the other line seemed to not understand my concern but promised to relay my complaint to the owner. She also indicated that he would reply. To date, I have not received any communication whatsoever from them. I wish they had been better about communicating the breakdown in labor and materials. I would definitely not had them do the repair if I had known.

Third visit, temperature from vents taken, no action or recommendation given. I asked for a quote on a new system. Owner came on next visit, heard what I had to say, including 3 other quotes. As he left he told me I would like his quote. He quoted $9,750 for a 16seer 3.5 ton Goodman. All weather Heating/AC quoted $7,360 for 3.5 ton Armstrong, 13seer. Another electrician quoted $5,200 for 3.5 ton 16 seer Goodman which included the National Grid $500. rebate. I waited too long to accept this offer which was a good one.(rebate terminated July 31) I had spoken with another contractor who guaranteed he would deliver a complete system for no more than $5,200. He made a recommendation that he amended six times from his original. When he required I write an initial check made out to him personally for $3,000, that ended that conversation. Finally another installer was recommended by a contractor friend of mine. His quote was $4,969, for a 3.5 ton Gibson 13seer unit. He was the only one that suggested and included an attic fan, a zone damper system with 7 electronic dampers, a programmable T-stat and t-stat and wrapping the ductwork. The two separate zones were an excellent idea in this split level home. I had been shopping for equipment on theacoutlet.com, which prices included shipping and no sales tax. Given the fact that I may only be at this location for 5 more years, I could not justify the additional cost for a 16 seer unit. Interestingly enough, Nick had no problem with me ordering my own equipment. Do not let a competitor tell you that doing it this way will void your warranty. I checked and the main requirement is that a licensed installer does the work. The work should be completed by this weekend.l

We are looking to buy our first home and needed an expert to check out some defects identified on the inspection report. Scheduling a time was easy. The technician showed up on time, and was professional and thorough. Overall, a good experience!

This was the second job we had hired Wayne and his team for and just like the first one, we were both very happy with everything. Wayne's a great, honest guy, very knowledgable contractor, and did a wonderful job installing a central A/C system in our 1940ish house. He's very accommodating, punctual, professional - everything you expect from a great contractor. I strongly recommend him, and we'll definitely hire him again for his services. Great job all around!

It might be the worst experience I have had trying to pay someone to do work for me. I am also curious to see their response to this review is because anything other than they had an opportunity to do a better job and I make more money is BS. I was not even important enough to try and reschedule just not going to show up. Best of luck doing any business with them.

Wayne was outstanding. He showed up on time, for both the estimate and installation, left everything clean and in good order. He was extremely professional and the unit is functioning extremely efficiently. I would give Affordable Heating and Air Conditioning Services my highest recommendation to any of my friends or family and will definitely be using them again for any future needs.

Very pleased with the work of Mark & Wayne. They were very careful and respectful to not 'ding' anything on the way in or out, they did a quality job for a fair price with great attitudes. They left the area clean and neat. Both very professional and friendly. They alerted me to a rebate of which I was not aware and provided the necessary application form.

Not well. I just felt a lack of responsiveness and professionalism. After receiving a reasonable estimate of the work to be done for a gas conversion, I experienced a lack of responsiveness--and, ultimately, a breakdown of communication. Calls to the office were not returned. Email responses were delayed and vague and altogether unhelpful. The job was never scheduled.

I work with contractors and installers all the time and these guys are awesome! Both Wayne and Matt do solid, professional work. I could not be happier and glad that I went with them!!

Matt was great! I called in the morning and was told I could be squeezed in for the day. Matt arrived and was very knowledgeable and recharged the system. He also had a few ideas he gave my husband as to why the system had been overheating. Will definitely use again!

Diagnosed what was causing one of our central a/c compressors not to work. Reconnected wiring to compressor and reconnected wiring internally to thermostat. All is working well now! Was incredibly responsive and thorough in evaluating, diagnosing and correcting our a/c problem. Would absolutely use Affordable Heating & A/C Services again.

Wayne and Matt did a great job installing a coil and condenser in my Central Air ready heating system. It was a pleasure to do business with Affordable Heating. The price was better than competitive, and the installation was flawless. I'm loving the comfort of having true climate control without the hassle of clunky Window Air Conditioners. Best decision I've made in a long time.

I originally called Wayne to troubleshoot a walk-in cooler that was leaking refrigerant, all calls were answered and he was on time and professional. Wayne offered me two options after taking a look and I elected to go with using the leak seal product instead of going the traditional dye/repair route and he returned to next day to apply it. While he was here however I figured that I'd have him check on an issue with my central air unit that another certain Angie's list "A" provider was unable to resolve after months, he found the problem in 10 minutes and came back with the part to fix it an hour later. While on the roof I've also had him inspect 2 exhaust units and quote for replacement on one that seems to be going out soon. I'm happy I've found Wayne and have never been so enthusiastic at paying someone, after all the run-around and unreturned calls/emails from the others it's nice to finally find a quality provider. Wayne also has a landscaping company under the same "affordable" brand, which I have hired him to make a bunch of changes to a house I just bought. But that review is another writing.

Excellent job, came in next am after calling. We had heat within a few hours. Reasonably priced!

Based on the reviews listed here, we called this company to give us an estimate on installing a new heating system. We had an appointment scheduled with them, they said they would come between 4-5pm. We waited and waited and they never showed. We called about 5:15 and were told they weren't coming due to an emergency service call. They asked if we would like them to come on Saturday instead. We said "well was anyone going to call and let us know they weren't going to show up?". Basically they gave us the runaround and said they were going to call but wanted to make sure they had to cancel first. I have no doubt they had no intention of calling. Needless to say we did not reschedule and will be looking elsewhere.

I first called Affordable Heating and AC to do a start-up check of two boilers (one for each unit) in a house I am renovating. The house has been empty for approximately 5 years, and the second floor unit possibly longer than that. The first service performed was a cleaning, start-up and assessment of each boiler. While things went smoothly for the first floor, the second floor boiler was rotting out. Affordable Heating explained my options, and we decided on full boiler replacement however I had to wait for a while until I could have the work performed. Affordable Heating was patient while I made my decision and responded immediately once it was made. They did a great job installing the boiler. I did not have it running as there was no need to during January but when I went to start it up in February there was no heaat. Affordable came out and diagnosed the issue and spent a bunch of extra time even late at night getting the heat up and running. Now everything is working great. Wayne and staff are friendly and courteous and I had no issue giving them access to the house. Thanks!
