It went very badly!!!! After we paid the deposit there were several delays in the start of the project because we were told that there was another customer's project that went longer. But there was another problem, the material was delayed since it hadn't been put on order after we had given our 40% deposit. Once work began, he said he hurt himself while working and he had to delay and be seen by his doctor. Although he talked about installing a microwave at a friend's house. More excuses and delays continued. We had several frustrating phone calls and emails so that we could understand the timing and tasks that were to be completed. He wasn't managing our project well or treating it with much importance. This also affected our other contractors and timing. Our schedule was blown by months The workmanship of dry wall installed the after the cabinets was sloppy; uneven and gap. We had to repair and sand the areas that he felt was good enough. We were out 10 weeks and he still wasn't close to being done. The cabinets had some putty to hide some large knot holes and gaps. We asked to replace each problem area with much pushback and only limited fixes. Putting in the appliances even turned challenging. We paid $800 for a vanity then he then stated that he wasn't going to provide a sink. More cost. delays, and frustration. The lighting system that we purchased from him had one bad transformer. He quickly washed his hands from the issue and he sloughed us off to the manufacturer that who told us it was the installer's fault. The manufacturer said we had to buy another transformer at a cost of $350. We found this provider unprofessional and overall workmanship shoddy.
Description of Work: Design and install kitchen; cabinet and countertops, sink and bathroom vanity. Provide Tresco under and in-cabinet lighting. The contractor came highly recommended from two people we met who had work performed by this provider. During the initial meetings we were pleased with the knowledge and quality of the materials that were to be provided. We were told we needed to organize any subcontractors and that we needed an electrician. We asked for and got the recommendation for an electrician. We were told that the project would take two weeks from start to completion and that the deposit was to pay for ordering materials. Timing was important due to planning around a surgery which was communicated up front.
