Stephan estimated the job and coordinated the purchase of materials that we specified.  Jason, his employee, did all the work.  To say that he is a true professional is an understatement.  The work area was always well organized, the mess was minimal, and he had almost everything he needed in his truck.  He was an absolute pleasure to have in our home for almost 5 days.  The end result is all we could have hoped for, and we are delighted.

Our small master bath sat unused for the two years since we've bought our house as it needed an overhaul. When we decided to move forward I had difficulty finding a contractor to take on a relatively small project ($8,000 with materials). I'm an architect and know many fine residential contractors, but they would not do a project of this size. The first contractor had to be fired. I decided to try Angie's List for the first time and came upon Stephan. Given the sterling reviews I called him. Punctual, honest, kind, focused, and highly skilled, Stephan and his people did a great job from start to finish. Though he is solidly booked, he fit us in and fulfilled every promise he made. He supervises his staff closely, but also does work himself. He personally finished our job and spent time on minute details. I genuinely feel relieved that I have now found a fine renovation contractor that focuses on small to medium projects. Hire him. You won't be disappointed.

I hired H.S. Remodel to do a tile job in
a new bathroom in my house. We signed off on the estimate in early May; and was
told the earliest he could get to us late July. He contacted me by email to say
the job would begin but them put it off because his tile guy had cancelled.  I finally sent an email asking him when he was
planning on starting and received an email on July 10 saying he would not be
able to do the job!  
I found
it extremely frustrating and be told by Stephan that he couldn't do this job?I had
to find someone else to do this tile work!

The sad part is I originally hired H.S. Remodel to do a quick remodel job on a bathroom in my house and they did a fantastic job. So good in fact that I hired them to do a much larger bathroom remodel in our house.
After signing off on the estimate in late May, I was told the earliest he could get it done was in late August. August came and went and I was asked if he could push it off until Early October which I relented on. (Note that specific dates were never used, just generalities) 
Early October came and went without a phone call. After leaving him multiple voicemail's and an email I finally received an email on October 15th that he couldn't do the job for us. So at this point I've waited five months to be told by Stephan that he couldn't do this job. Now I have to find someone else on the 15th of October. Extremely frustrating.

Work began in early summer.  It started with the siding and progressed steadily.  The workers were exceedingly prompt, neat, safety conscious and very courteous. Then the work on the cornice began with the same work ethic.  The porch followed and again the workers showed pride in their work, kept us informed of any concerns and/or delays and were very accommodating to our traffic patterns.  The porch looks absolutely beautiful with mahogany decking and banister trim. The interior work coincided with the porch work and involved rolling carpets.  Each evening the carpets would be unrolled after a thorough vacuuming was done.  Constant attention was made to disrupt normal household routines as little as possible.
The general contractor, Stephan Haubrich, oversaw the job regularly, was available easily by phone, offered general and specific advice and made us feel the pride he took in this work.  His suggestions were always helpful and right on target.  It was a pleasure working with him.

Stephan & his employees, Fernando & Ken, completely gutted the 70's upstairs bathroom.  They installed a new tub, toilet, vanity & accessories.  Tiled in the bathtub area, tiled the floor, painted ceiling, door, trim, walls & also installed wainscoting.



From our first meeting with Stephan, he knew what we wanted & needed.  His estimate was right on the mark.  Fernando & Kenny were meticulous & didn't miss a detail. When they finished for the day, they picked up & cleaned until the next day. They were always courteous & respectful. 



It was refreshing in this times to see that there are workers who enjoy what they do & take great pride in their job. We enjoyed having them in the house. We also needed a few repairs done around the house which they did. That was extra because it was not listed on our original list & felt the cost was reasonable. Stephan runs a tight ship & have discussed future projects. We love our new bathroom. Job well done!!!!

Had an old late 60's early 70's bathroom remodeled.
During demo of our tub, the crew found black mold that they were able to remove and repair.
Removed old vinyl flooring, inspected and reinforced the sub-floor. Tiled the floor and walls with the porcelain tile we selected.
The old tub was demoed and we had it remodeled into a walk-in tiled shower with a custom made bench.  The crew used backerboard and a waterproof membrane layer of RedGard and tiled over this.
The crew installed a new high-efficiency toilet, a vanity with a quartz sink top with faucet set and a mirror.
Also installed were sconces and a recessed LED light can in the ceiling as well as a new light/fan vent that is over the toilet and a new hydronic electric baseboard heater and thermostat as well as outlet and switches.
New doors for the entrance to the bathroom and the closet door were installed as well as new trim for the doors and window.
New shower head and handle as well a new valve were installed.
New door hadware and hinges, new hardware for vanity were installed.
Walls and ceiling were plastered and two coats of paint..
The crew were very knowledgeable and professional.  They do great work and the owner of the company, Stephan checked in on the work frequently.
We are ecstatic with the results.
Stephan and his crew also did a laundry room & 1/2 bathroom addition in our basement that came out wonderful as well that is in a different review.
I look forward to Stephan and his crew doing even more work for me in the near future!

We had a great first experience with H. S. Remodeling.  Stephan Haubrich, the owner, is a real professional.  We hired him to renovate our guest room, including building custom bookshelves and closet shelves, replacing the closet doors with a solid-pine bi-fold, replacing the bedroom door with solid pine, replacing the door jamb (which required custom carpentry), replacing all baseboards and casements, adding ceiling molding, and painting the entire room. Stephan gave us a very detailed estimate and kept to it. 
Most of the work was done by a two-man crew.  They were timely, professional, and worked hard.  Stephan checked in every few days.  We liked how the work was going, so we added some projects in another bedroom.  Stephan was very accommodating about the extra work, which extended the job by about 3 days.  We were especially impressed by the custom carpentry; Jay, the carpenter, created a lovely built-in bookcase with moveable shelves in part of what used to be a very big
closet, plus built storage shelves (also moveable) in the closet behind the new bookcase.
There was very little to criticize about any of the work.  We pay close attention to detail, so we wish that the workmen had used painters? tape for edge-work ? still, they did an above average job and the lines look clean.  We also wish that they had completely covered the floor before painting the ceiling.  Overall, they did a good job of cleaning up, but we still had to scrape lots of tiny paint spots off the hardwood floor.  The lead workman seemed irritable when asked to fix small flaws, but he did fix them and we?re very pleased with the result.  It was clear that Stephan himself pays close attention to detail, so his supervision obviously helped keep the quality high.  When Stephan came to do the final walk-through, he did some touch-ups himself and even helped us move some furniture.  Plus, he?s very friendly.
We would definitely hire H. S. Remodeling again.  You can probably find cheaper contractors, but you?re unlikely to find such quality and reliability. 

It went awesome.  Stephan was friendly and responsive on the phone when going over what was "up" with our porch and what we needed.  He is a busy busy guy, but he didn't seem rushed, he took his time with me to go over what we needed and we are looking to do.  We are basically looking to get 12 windows replaced, wood rot replaced, vinyl siding on the porch and any other structure/wood repairs needed to be done to the porch.
Within 3 or 4 days he had called with an estimate.  Right now the estimate is a little out of our range, but if we had the $ we would have booked him without getting any more quotes.  If we can save up the $ and he is still avail we will call him, no doubt.
Lastly, I'd like to point out that we are a gay couple and his professionalism and "non-issue'ness" is appreciated.

We are very satisfied with the results of the work Stephan performed.  We intend to call on him in the future.

I can't tell you how nicely this came out.  Tile work was excellent (thank you Massimo!), a beautiful wall of glass tile, exactly how we laid it out, with the perfect white tiling on the inside of the shower, not one flaw.  I can't believe the outcome, and the price was very competitive.  Even tho we had a  couple minor things emerge during the build, there was no attempt to overcharge when the final bill was due.  The workmanship, price and professionalism were all top-notch.  Only thing one needs to be aware of is that the timing of your project needs to be flexible, as someone with this quality and favorable pricing has to be able to fit your project in, which for us was no problem.  If you have a 5 day job that you need to get done in exactly 5 days, then pay 2x or 3x the cost and call someone else.  Good work isn't fast, and fast work isn't good.  I will call these guys for future work, if I am lucky enough to get them to work for me again.  Thanks Stephan!
BTW, the contractor who initially worked with me wanted to charge more than $1800 more than HSRemodeling to do this job - so glad I found Stephan.

Could not have gone more smoothly.  Stephan worked quickly and efficiently.   No delay between his project and new granite countertop installer.
His price was well below that of big store installer.
Went above and beyond:
Came back a couple of months later when new faucet handle leaked and repaired it no charge.  Patched a Pergo flooring gap no charge.
He was pleasant and personable throughout.

This is the third bathroom that Stephan has done for us.  Everything came out fabulous!  Everyone loves our new lavette.  Work was done fast, on time, and the craftsmanship was superb.  We even added some extra work from our original estimate and Stephan was very accommodating.  Thanks H.S. I do not want to lavish praise unfairly on what was a small job, but I had a leaky tub and now it is much more watertight.  He came when he said he would he did the job he said he would do.  I'm very pleased with my big deal.

Gave an honest appraisal of needed work, worked well with my families schedule to do all major work in one day so that the tub could be used as quickly as possible. All work was completed in three days and price quote was met. Plan to use services again.

He gave us a good proposal, and the only reason we didn't do the work is that we decided to do something less invasive.

Work was done in good time with lots of communication and the room looked excellent!  Would highly recommend H.S. Remodeling to everyone!

They were on time and worked hard the whole time they were here.  There were a very few problems where the paper did not stick to the wall securely at the seams but all the alignment was done well.  I should also add that our kitchen has numerous cut windows and doors and funky corners.
I would hire them again without hesitation.

This is the second bathroom that HS remodeling has done for us.  I'm so glad I found this company.  The workmanship is premier and the price is very fair.  I had problems getting my tub from the manufacture but Stephan was very understanding and worked with me to start the project as soon as it arrived.  The whole process went very quick and now my kids have a beautiful bathroom.  I highly recommend HS remodeling for anyones bathroom remodeling needs.
