I'd conducted researched and had several bids to replace the basement windows in my 27 year old town home.  The bids ranged from $8,000 for inexpensive vinyl windows to $30,000 for custom wood windows.  When I learned that the town home Association prohibited vinyl or vinyl clad windows, I was left to consider only custom wood windows from high end window makers.  I decided to do one more online search for "window repairs" and found Ardmor, Inc.   They promptly responded to my request for a proposal and were able to determine that my basement windows were in generally good condition and needed repairs to the rotted sills and sashes and replacement of rusty and broken mechanisms and dual-panned windows that had developed condensation between the panes.  They worked for 3 days to meticulously repair, repaint and rehang my windows.  As a plus, I asked if they could replace the glass with Low-E insulated windows with variable thickness (1/8" & 3/16").  I had read that this would help with energy efficiency and reduce outside noise levels.  They were able to work with a local glass maker to do this.   Happily, the windows look great, they open & close easily, the Low-E glass is already keeping south facing rooms cooler during the day and warmer at night AND, in my assessment, outside noise has been reduced by 25-50%.  Awesome result and at a price significantly less than what I would have paid to replace them.  Thanks You!
