Excellent work. They were timely when they came out and I was very happy with what they had done. He gave me advice about the water filter and I am very grateful.

I've hired James Brown Plumbing for multiple jobs. The first was getting a soft copper pipe that had a pinhole replaced that was leaking into my kitchen. The work was done quickly and without issue. The next issue was a severely clogged garbage disposal and a leaking pipe underneath my toilet. James Brown sent two people for the job, one for each part of the job. Both individuals were very polite, and I would not hesitate (and have not hesitated) to hire them again. It was slightly frustrating that the two jobs took the same amount and I was billed for the full time for both workers despite the fact one job seemed far more labor intensive. The third job was the biggest job and was replacing a water line. One person was sent for this job the first day, even though two were sent for the smaller jobs. They booked the job on short notice, but the person was an hour late. This wasn't the biggest deal, as I work from home, but I didn't get any call or anything notifying me they'd be late. He got a lot of work done by himself, but I think if two people had been there it could have been a one day job. The second day, a second person came and the job was finished. Despite being told that they would be coming the second day in the afternoon, I got a call around 8 am asking if they could come then. Again, not the biggest deal for me personally, but it did mess with my schedule. The work was very clean, but I was frustrated that despite my request, the openings were cut in an area that made replacing the ceiling more difficult for my contractor. The openings were off by a few inches, so it would have been possible for them to place them better. The last job was fixing a leak in my upstairs shower that was leaking in the same location as the first job. After checking replacing a piece, the leak remained. Ultimately the piece was just sealed with a clear apoxy. So far this has held up fine and will be put under more of a test as we have guests this weekend. Finally, billing is "due immediately" but without penalty within 30 days per the invoice. I paid in full for the first, second and fourth job immediately. Due to the cost of the third job (over $1,000) and no option on the invoice for partial payment, I waited for my paycheck to pay the amount. I had paid all the jobs I have received multiple e-mails requesting payment, and 2 phone calls prior to payment becoming late. My invoices are not past due (and as of writing this are fully paid), so I don't appreciate the multiple contacts before any. Again, I would hire James Brown again, but would like for there to be better communication regarding scheduling and a more lenient payment collection.

I would definitely recommend James Brown Plumbing and heating. The company stepped in and helped me out of a jam when I was completing the remodel on my master bath. The work was completed in a professional manner and when I had a problem I was able to speak with Jim Brown directly. Jim went out of his way to make sure I was completely satisfied. I would use them again for any plumbing needs.

We had an issue with the riser pump in a brand new basement bathroom.  Scott Brown and his team come out same day and completely redid the plumbing perfectly.  Scott Brown is single most professional Plumber I have ever met.  The job was done right for a very fair price.   The difference between our bathroom installers "Plumbing" and how Scott's team finished the job was amazing, I will only use James brown for any future plumbing or HVAC Needs. 

This service provider was very detailed and gave me a tremendous amount of confidence in his work and abilities. He was very knowledgeable and his pricing was within the standard amounts charged for this type of service. But what really set him apart from the rest of the pack was his attention to details and professional advice. I have nothing but good things to say!
On the "needs improvement" side his attitude towards customers negotiating high ticket items such as prices for a new broiler, this is where some the company could use a more sophisticated business strategy. We required a new broiler and wanted 4 estimates; unbeknown to this company they were are first choice, but we also wanted a competitive price their price was $20,000, but we ended up going with a $10,000 pricing structure with a different company. When we communicated that our other bids were more competitive and showed the estimates, we were told "not to even start that." While there's no doubt in my mind that the recommendations were solid, well thought, and maybe even better -- we had other budgetary items to consider and paying an additional $10,000 for our family of 7 was too much of a financial burden at that time.  This situation was truly ashamed because this company really knows their stuff and up to that point were very easy to work with and despite the one issue we had, we would love to be able to contact them again to service the broiler of our two properties. But now it just feels too awkward.
I would hire them again for a general service contract because they did a fantastic job!

They are meticulous workers. General contractors who see others perform the same services many times over were very impressed with James Brown's high quality of workmanship. For contractors to comment on that is a testament to how impressive their work is.

Jimmy, my service technician, was awesome and was on time each visit, was super helpful, explained all of his findings and provided updates. Fixed our heat pump and even made a special second trip during one of the hottest weeks of the summer so far to make sure the system was working properly.
