representative showed up on time. He was extremely pleasant and explained what work he would be doing. When I asked what he would be using for pest control, he was able to explain that it was people and pet friendly. He asked me if I had any specific bugs or pests that I
wanted eradicated. I mentioned that I had earwigs around my garden and that I needed help with them. He also explained about other treatments available to eradicate grubs. After the representative sprayed the outside perimeter of my home, he placed 3 sticky traps that were effective for both insects and rodents, 2 in my garage and 1 in my attic. He explained and left information about other services
available, yet it did not sound like a sales pitch. I was very happy with the work performed.

Advised to not perform certain services this time of year as it would be a waste of money. Advised having services performed during different times of the year and again made no attempt to pressure sell or up sell, just felt like we were talking as friends would.

After explaining this to the receptionist I was connected me with a sales associate. I again explained that mice were spotted in garage and would like them taken care of. The conversation lasted over 20 minutes most of it explain the different options. I simply wanted a visit, to get rid of the mice before they multiplied. I opted with the one time service which was good for thirty days with return visits within that time. This was the first time we had ever seen them, and never had any problems before with insects, bees, pests etc. before Then came the sales pitch; for yearly service with a one time fee, and a monthly charge for my peace of mind, convenience when the summer month came and in the future... Again I asked for the one time service. the price i was quoted was $25.00 higher than the Angies List coupon price which was pest control for a 4 bedroom house. Reluctantly he adjusted the price after placing me on hold and checking with someone. I was then connected to the receptionist to set up the appointment. I wanted this taken care of sooner rather than later. I explained to her that I work during the week and a she offered me an appointment for a Saturday in several weeks, and some weekday appointments. I apologized that would not work and i would try another company, amazingly an appointment was found for that Saturday.
The service technician was very prompt and went right to work. He told us this might require several trips to check the traps, bait etc, and suggested a revisit in 10-to 14 days. My wife arranged to take a morning off on the tenth day . We called in to schedule a visit for the re-check and was told nothing was available for the week or Saturday due to the holiday, and it would have to be the following week. My wife again explained our work hours which started and ended before and after their working hours. She suggested we would have to arrange a day the following week when we could accommodate their schedule. We asked if they could squeeze us in, or again come on Saturday, and we were given a flat out no. My wife asked them to be a bit more accommodating so the traps could be emptied, as we were asked by the service technician. The receptionist was very defensive, and told my wife that we were not giving her any options, and suggested we were the one being difficult with our schedule. The company works from 8 AM-6 PM. Unfortunately we work in jobs that extend beyond those ours, and rarely can get a morning free or leave work early. We asked if it was this difficult to get an appointment why cant the service technician schedule the appointment on the initial visit. They don't do that
Green Pest was able to schedule a visit when I told them i would have to go with another company rather quickly. The follow-up was less then accommodating after they were paid, and we were only following the recommendation of the service technician. It appears the 30 day one time treatment is applicable to thier schedule, and not the customers. We asked to be put on a list for cancelations for the time my wife had arranged off, or for a partial refund of the money paid for the service. Thus far we have had no communication, and have had to hire another service.
