We have had no heat for two days. We have a service contract and it's paid timely. We can't even get a return call for emergency service. I would NOT recommend this company.

We have been customers for many years. We have fuel delivered service contract. But for the last 5 months we have had numerous people come out for our heater. At first not heating the downstairs. Now it won’t stop heating the house. Even with the thermostat off. No one know what the last guy did and now because of Covid 19 I can not get anyone out again until Monday. Me wasting my money heating a home that does not need to be heated is not an emergency. Do not use this company search for another!!!

They charged us almost double the market rate after our contract ended ($4.40/gallon!). This has never happened with any other company I used. When I called about renewing a contract (not that I would) their rate was still at least a dollar more per gallon that other companies. Do not use!
Response from DDM Energy

"I am unable to go into the specifics of our day to day expenses, but I can tell you that because you are a customer with DDM Energy, you do get to take advantage of the benefits we have to offer as a full service company. Our uniformed, licensed, Service Technicians are available 24 hours a day, including Holidays, in case of any emergencies and insured for your protection, so you can have that peace of mind. Since we are an automatic fill company, it takes the burden off you having to watch your tank because we deliver oil as needed. We offer flexible payment options, like our Budget Plan, which allows you to spread your payments over a 12 month period. Although a 30 day notice was given prior to the contract expiring, in good faith, we offered to apply a concession for the last delivery, which was declined."

They keep us filled with oil. They have a set of policies which governs the rate for their services. It's standard in the industry. In other words they show up to your door to do service and so many dollars to walk into your house. Then there's the cost to do the service. If the service is a repair to get something operationally working again. It might be minimum charge of $100. If that service only take 90 seconds they would still charge you $90. I've been a customer since 1976. I had a wire that had come lose on our heat pump, and they attempted to charge me $250 to do 90 seconds of work, to reattach a wire. That was the first time I ever wrote back to a company about gauging a customer. Then they explained their standard services and rates and  all that. I said that I understand that, but they still gauged a customer. Then they came back and adjusted the bill. To me it was not a competitive policy. I think they had a strong profit motivation, so from a service standpoint is an "A". They never spilled oil on the decks or pipes. The people that deliver the oil is excellent and the people who do the service work is anywhere from A-C depending on who you get. I can't give them an overall grade of "A" if their profit and policy motivation does not taken into account the lack of effort that they do.

They tried to talk me into auto filling. I wanted to pay for what I got. They signed me up for autodelivery anyway. They kept showing up whenever they felt like, it was not consistent. They did not leave a bill so I had no idea this was going on. Now they want all of their money and they keep delivering oil. Why would you deliver to someone who isn't paying their bill? I finally got a hold of someone at HOP energy who would not help me. They just went on about a contract and said I could change my delivery frequency. I told him change it to never and now they want to charge me to get out of my contract. It's not even a good deal. Please read the other reviews and get an oil company that does not work for HOP energy.

He told me what he diagnosed would take care of the problem but it did not. If I call them, they come out and if it is something not in my contract I have to pay, but if it is in my contract I don't have to pay.

I had to call them because I was waiting all day for them to show up. They give you a time frame for when they are gonna come out, between this time and that time. The showed up more closer to the end of the time frame and not more towards the middle of the time frame, which meant my whole day was interrupted. I didn't like that. I understand you never know what the problem is going to be when you go to somebody's home. You never know if it is going to be longer. When he did the diagnoses it covered only one area of the house and not the entire house.

I have dealt with them for a long time now. The workers are very nice. It took them about 45 minutes to a hour. They always clean up really nice. I think the work that they do is good as far as accuracy. Sometimes you have to call them back, but I don't know, you don't get angry. You never know. I have a contract with them and they honor the contract very well. If they didn't fix the problem right the first time or if I am still having the problem, they come right out.

Unethical practices.  If details are required just refer to Better Business Bureau.  It should be noted that no future customer should trust the capped price program.  If you do, you will be paying the max cap price rather then the "market price" no matter if the price in your market is much lower.  Also, do not expect that you will be oil delivery fee free till the fall even if you have 1/2 tank left in Apr. and are on automatic delivery.  They will make sure to pad their pockets by topping you off before the summer starts.  Plenty more examples of their practices are available on Google Reviews.  We should have done our homework before signing up.  Our only hope that any future customers will do that homework before deciding to sign up.

Im pretty sure that if anyone were to ask me, "What was the name of the company with the worst customer service you ever received?" I would say DDM Energy!! Hands down!   Ya. Its THAT bad.
We used them for a year and a half. When we called to get contract pricing going into our second year, we calculated that it would be about a 150/year difference(more). Having our Boiler install payments and oil payments set up electronically it felt easier than going somewhere else, running credit and going through the motions again. I was wrong!! We took the quote that was given to us and told them we were going with them. We thought, "great! one more thing off our plate!" Well, no one sent us a contract and no one told us that when we verbally told them we were using them again that our contract didn't carry over. Our first delivery had two different costs per gallon of oil. We called, they rectified it. we thought again, "great thing we signed up for that contract!" NOPE!
Skipping ahead to the next delivery where we were charged RETAIL and no one would help us. It was all anyone could do to say  it was our fault we didn't have a contract. Our fault? We had no idea that auto deliveries, talking to a sales rep that we were using them and having them correct a previous 'error' in billing wasnt all signs that we had an agreement. Everyone we spoke to was rude and acted as if we should be so lucky as to pay nearly a dollar over other vendors PER GALLON. One 'retention rep' told me they can charge more because they have better technicians. Unless they do a little dance while they are hooking up my oil, it isn't worth $1 more per gallon which is a few hundred dollars after a big fill up. It took many phone calls and many different tantrums (on my part) to get back some of the money that they over charged us....and I still feel upset about how everything was handled. (obviously!)
I would NOT RECOMMEND using this company. I feel that they not only over charged, but they think more highly of themselves than they do their customers and thats not someone I want to do business with....especially when competitors down the street are much more affordable, nice and reliable.

Initial installation was good. They modified the plenum when the heater was installed. 6 months later the plenum started leaking when we used the central air conditioning system which was always there and had never leaked before. I called the company and they sent out a technician. he told us it was the air conditioner and did nothing and then we received a bill for $99.00 for the service call. I called and explained the situation to no avail. We paid the $99.00. On our contract it said they were modifying the plenum and we would be automatically enrolled in their silver service plan in the second year. Last month the blower motor completely stopped working in the heater unit. Since we thought we were enrolled in the silver plan, we called them to fix the heater. We received a bill for 359.00 dollars. The cost of the silver service plan. Long story short, this company is a rip as far as I am concerned. I would not have agreed because they're was no cost spelled out in the contract for this plan. Since it was on there, I thought it was part of the initial cost. So we either pay $359 for the contract or $659 for the service call. Buyer beware with this company and salesman Lesson Learned with this company..never trust what is even on your contract with them

I  signed up for their 1000 gallon price cap. The sales woman assured me that if the price of oil went down they would charge me the market price. when I had oil delivered on 12/22 they charged me the capped price which was 95 cents over market. When I called to complain, the customer service manager said I signed the contract and they weren't obligated to lower the price. He than asked me what he could do to help us. When I said I wanted to be released from the contract, he hung up on me. I also had a yearly boiler tune-up in November. The technician arrived as scheduled and completed the tune-up, but failed to complete all of the steps detailed by the manufacturer. One month later I had to replace an expansion tank, and the plumber told me that it had been bad for a long time and that the DDM tech should have noted that. A "F" review is too high for DDM. They don't monitor reviews and don't care about their customers but it helps to let others know to stay away from DDM.

I have used Diamond Oil as my heating oil and service provider for 35 years.  In all those years I never thought to look at their pricing - oil was not so expensive back then.  In the past few years I noticed my bills were quite high.  Last year I finally questioned their pricing and got a better rate - not the best price, but within reason.  I figured, as a long time customer, I was getting a good deal.  I got a delivery last week and I was amazed at how high the cost was - over a dollar a gallon more than other providers.  Additionally, I have had a service contract with them that included a yearly cleaning, which has not been done in a year and a half.  I was told today it could not be done for...4 months.   I am usually a very loyal customer, but when I am being ripped off - for both the oil price and the service contract - I must shop around.  I found a company that does everything Diamond does in a much more cost effective manner.  I would recommend anyone considering DDM to shop around - they are not looking out for their customers.  I find it very sad and...troubling...
