"We were asked to arrange for pickup either before 8 a.m. or after 4 p.m., which is a very unusual request. Obviously someone has to be present at pickup, which is typically done within a four-hour window during the day. Upon pickup, we did not contact the recipient because she had chosen White Glove service, which guarantees we will contact the recipient at least 24-48 hours before delivery. We did that. Lastly, the member was originally quoted a price for Economy Service but ultimately chose White Glove service, which includes inside pickup and delivery and full preparation of items for transport. That is the extra service mentioned, and we did provide that as well. We truly regret any misunderstanding, but we did provide the service requested. We’ve reached out to this member for more information and to offer a discount on a future shipment if she so desires."
"It makes us uncomfortable to disagree with a customer, but there are some factual errors here that must be corrected, particularly the description of TSI as “deceitful and false.” We do not advertise that we set up grandfather clocks upon delivery. (Please see our website page at www.transitsystems.com/grandfather_clock_shipping/.) Resetting the works on a clock is a specialized service that few if any long-distance movers provide. As we tell our customers, you do not want a mover calibrating your grandfather clock, just as you don’t want a clock technician moving your furniture. In addition, the shipping cost listed above overstated by more than $400. (Actual cost: $1,188.) Lastly, we employ a roster of regional and national carriers with whom we work regularly and exclusively. We negotiate discounts because of the volume of business we do with our carriers, and we serve as both liaison and advocate for our customers. We do not hide this from our customers, we’re very proud of our ability to get the best possible combination of pricing and service to meet our customers’ needs."
"This one bothers us a lot. With 18 “A” grades and one “B” grade, it hurts to get an “F.” But this Angie’s List member is right, we did a poor job. After learning the details, we asked for documentation on repairs and we did receive an invoice for labor. The member sent us her own estimate of the cost for materials and we’re honoring that as well without further verification. We have compensated her directly. Internally, we have instructed our carrier on this job that we will no longer allow the crew who did the pickup to do any more pickups for us."
"Thanks, (member name removed) . Glad to be of help. Our mission statement says in part that we will "ensure a good customer experience," which begins the moment a prospective customer visits our website or contacts us in any way. But enough of the self-promotion : -) I just wanted to clarify that your move wasn't too small, it was actually too large. We are rarely cost-effective on full household, 5,000-lb. moves like yours. Our niche is less-than-truckload moves and shipments. Once again, good luck on the move!"
