I called and inquired, I brought the box to the shipper in Houston, and the rest was simple for them. They specified to top load the item, to it arrived in perfect condition. Thank you.

It went perfectly! They picked up the boxes in Florida as scheduled, and I was shocked to get a call two nights later to say that everything was ready to be delivered to my home. Merritt, our driver, lowered the boxes in our driveway, and my son and I opted to open them ourselves. We opened the zebra's box first, and he arrived in perfect shape! The pictures were all intact, and I couldn't be happier with the seamless move. I wish I had used them long before I paid for two years of storage

Everything went exactly as planned. They moved a dining room table, a heavy elliptical machine, a number of boxes and some small furniture. They called in advance on both ends and came on schedule. The guys were friendly and careful.
I did spend some extra time with the folks on the phone as I didn't think their estimate of the weight was accurate (I thought it was more and didn't want to get caught when they arrived and saw the elliptical). I think this worked in my favor. The elliptical was broken down which worried me, but they put it back together. Though it wasn't perfect, it's as good or better than I could have done and saved me the hassle. They told me that they would add a third guy to move the elliptical and charged me more. I saw only two guys, but since they got it moved and put it back together for me, I thought it was worth it.

It went well. The initial person I talked with was helpful and honest. He did not make a promise until he was sure it could occur. I had a tight time window when the furniture needed to be picked up. Another company made promises and had a lower price but when it was down to the wire they could not deliver.
Transit Systems was responsive when I called or emailed. Again other companies would take days or weeks to get back with me. Thoughout the process Transit Systems kept me updated and aware of what and where things were.
The furniture included an oak table and chairs that were my grandmothes and are over 100 years old. They were well packed and delivered on time in excellent condition.

The movers covered each piece of furniture with blankets for safe transport and placed it carefully in our home. They were curteous and professional.

It went very well. We were in no rush. They called our son in Philadelphia a few days in advance to let him know when they were picking up the furniture and called again when they were on their way (as requested). The same occurred with us on the delivery end. Furniture was packed well and nothing was damaged or lost. Movers were very professional and did a great job. Would use again.

The workers from Transit System are very quick and responsive. Everything arrived with minimal damage. The shipment came quicker than expected and they were able to handle it really well.
The only real negative is that the weight estimate was off by 625 lbs and they ended up charging me an extra $1000. I still don't know how we possibly went over on weight and then why it was so expensive.

"This member did the right thing and we highly recommend it to everyone – take pictures of your items before they are picked up. If damage occurs during transport, taking pictures afterward will ensure your claim is processed quickly and fairly. This is true of anything you ship, even the contents of parcels you send with UPS or a similar company. UPS ships millions of parcels every year, and some get damaged. We have completed almost 10,000 moves and shipments this year to date, and a small percentage have incurred damage. It happens to every shipping company. The key is how the situation is handled when the unexpected does occur. First, we apologize for our carrier, who was unable to make the delivery during the 10 day window – that’s inexcusable and we should have delivered within the given time frame. We gave the member a partial refund for her inconvenience. As for the damage claim, we will contact the carrier immediately about the status of the claim and follow up with the member."

The original quote was for 10 boxes but they adjusted the quote once the official count was determined. Actual quote was based on weight but I just told them the # of boxes.

The raft frame was a little complicated and took some time to break apart into "shippable" sizes. I had a little trouble finding boxes long enough for the oars and side rails. I contacted ten different shippers and received quotes from each one. There were quite a bit of variation between the quotes, and TSI was definitely the lowest.. They did a supper joy of shrink wrapping the five boxes onto a pallet. TSI was able to get the shipment to the final destination in one day less time than they estimated.. Over all they did an excellent job at a reasonable price. My only problem was that they couldn't tell me an exact total price until after they shipped the boxes. The fellow who received the shipment and shared the cost was not too happy about not knowing the final cost until after receiving the boxes.
