The experience went pretty well. Eric responded very quickly to my email inquiries, concerns and questions regarding my home, selling strategy, and sales in the area. He and Kathy came to my home and met me in person, and looked over every inch. They made specific suggestions on improving the look, painting, and staging. We discussed marketing strategies and his suggestions for showing the house. He brought photos of homes that he listed, and showed his talents as a photographer - his photos made the rooms SNAP! The quality of his photos significantly improved the brochures and MLS sheets. I ultimately ended up going with another broker who had a very strong network in the area. Nothing against Eric's abilities as a broker; on the contrary, I found him to be personable and easy to talk to, and very internet-savvy as a marketer. Feedback to him as a comment, is that once I let him know I was going to list with someone else, I never heard back and did not get any acknowledgement from him. I thought that would have been a nice thing to do.......

Eric was excellent -- let me just say that first. I found him through http://www.searchpittsburghhomes.com/ and the first thing that impressed me was how quickly he responded and answered my questions (even answering my emails while he was on holiday in Mexico!). It was a good omen. When it came time to go out looking for houses, I discovered the second thing I really loved about Eric: he was fantastically honest about the properties we were looking at. That was really important to me, as I didn't know the area or the local construction styles at all, and I quickly learned that I could trust him to be straight with me about the houses we were seeing, and to be more concerned with find the right house for me, rather than the best sale for him. It took us ages to find a house -- my husband and I weren't sure what we wanted when we first started looking and it took us a while to acclimatise ourselves to the local house styles. Because of this, I had Eric looking for houses over a really big geographic area and -- to his credit -- he wasn't phased by that at all. He took us out time and again and showed us tones of houses until we got a feel for what we were REALLY looking for. And then, halfway through our house-search, my husband's job changed and that changed the area we needed to buy in, meaning that much of the work we'd already done now counted for nothing. Though I'm sure Eric must have begun to wonder if we'd EVER buy a house, he never showed it, and quite happily redrew the househunt map and took us out to look for houses again in the new areas. Eventually, when we did find THE house, there was some hot competition for it. Eric guided us in putting together an offer that made us the most attractive buyers, so that the seller chose our bid. He then took us right through the closing process, answering all our questions and continuing to be a really valuable resource. When it was all over -- I have to be honest -- I missed Eric! I'd been going out to see houses with him once or twice a week for about six months and I enjoyed our conversations and his sense of humour. He told me early on in the process that he didn't believe in shopping for houses unless it was fun as well, and it certainly turned out to be true. He was a real professional to work with, but better than that because he was fun to be around and very honest and straightforward with his clients. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him.

We could not be more satisfied with our experience in this emotional and stressful transition. The housing market had already slowed down and we were building our new house after living in our old home for 22 years. We interviewed a number of Realtors and settled on Eric since he seem to be the most willing to work with us and go the extra mile to give us the best chance of a sale. He took us around to see competitive houses and gave us lots of input and support to make our house better than the rest. We did not have much time to get our house ready to go on the market and Eric worked with us in every aspect to make sure we were ready. As a result of his efforts, our house sold in 2 days in a tough market and we are now in our new home. We know that having a really good experience with a Realtor is not the normal story, and felt that it should be shared.
