In June 2012 I brought two pieces of furniture to consign. We signed a contract that they would take 50% of the sale amount, and 50% would go to me. I called them after two months to continue the contract. When I called again at the end of October they said one piece had sold, they were just waiting for it to be delivered, and then they would pay me. I called again on November 28 and they said it had been delivered, and he would mail me a check for it that week. He also said the other piece had sold, was being delivered, and they would send a check once it was final. No check came in the mail. On December 31, 2012 I went to the store, intending to tell them to give me what they owed me, or I would file a police report. A sign on the door said they were closed and to contact an email address about getting belongs back. When I emailed the address, the reply came that any money recovered would go to the landlord first and that I was pretty much out of luck when it came to the $229 they owed me.
