Everyone was very nice and helpful; from my initial call to the estimate visit I was impressed. He arrived to my home and checked out my system quickly and thoroughly. Much to my surprise he gave me an estimate on several systems that day. My options were good and fairly priced. I eventually went with another company, but I was certainly considered going with Accu Tech, I
would recommend them to anyone in the market for an HVAC system.

It went wonderfully.  They did everything in one day.  Everything that they promised to do they did.  They were courteous and cleaned everything up after they were done.  They showed me how to work the thermostat as well.  The system they put in turned out to be exactly what they said it would be and should be.

Everything went well.  The installer was very professional and did a great job.  Not so much with the humidifier.  It does add moisture to the air and that's a good thing.  The moisture that isn't added to the air goes down the drain via my utility tub.  It doesn't recycle the water that isn't used.  I put the plug in my utility tub to see just how much water was being wasted.  I checked the tub the next day and it was close to overflowing!  An incredible amount of water to waste each and everyday that I am using the humidifier.  I'm sure there's a way to fix it I just haven't taken the time to do it.  The installer said that this was the newer version of humidifiers.  It doesn't recycle the water because there were apparent issues with the water becoming contaminated being recycled over and over.

Very courteous person made appointment to arrange estimate. Estimator also on time and professional. Provided estimate in writing quickly. My concerns with this estimate was that the estimator never did a heat load calculation to size the equipment and never actually looked into the attic space where the air handler was going to be installed. He also did not measure the space of the opening where the air handler was going to have to fit. I'm not an HVAC expert but I think the estimate was incomplete.

I called the company on Saturday evening, and was told that the technician would call be back to discuss my issue.  The technician called me within 30 minutes which was great.  I set up an appointment with him for 8am Sunday morning.  He did not arrive at 8am.  I thought perhaps that he might have not accounted for daylight savings time, but he did not show up at 9am either.  At 10am, I called the company again.  After asking specifically if the technician was unavailable if someone else would be able to help me, I was told that someone (either the technician or a supervisor) would get in touch with me.   Unfortunately, no one ever called me back on Sunday (or on Monday), and given that I was looking for emergency service that was very disappointing.

When we looked into your complaint, we found you were correct. We dropped the ball. I am very sorry this happened and certainly not the way we like to do business. Although you wouldn't know this, it doesn't happen often. In fact, I also need to thank you for bringing this to our attention; otherwise, we may not have realized there was a problem. The technician on call that weekend was new with our company, and it was his first time “On Call” and he was apparently overwhelmed. He was not sure how to handle the influx of calls that he had and did not realize there was assistance available to him to do so. We did talk with the technician who you talked to and corrected the internal process, but unfortunately this is after the fact. Called to schedule an annual A/C inspection.  Was not expecting same-day service, but it worked out that way.  Mike, the contact at the office, was responsive and explained the service.  Wayne, the technician, arrived promptly, was courteous, and finished the service in under an hour.  I was especially pleased to not have any surprise add-on charges and to receive a report that the unit was functioning well and did not need repairs.

My 1965 house has baseboard hot water heat.  Accutech needed to install duct work in addition to the air conditioning unit.  All work was completed in a professional manner.  The technicians arrived each day (it was a 5-day job) on time, and immediately went to work.  This was despite the fact that the technicians has a minimal of one-hour to drive to my house.  (The company was recommended by a contractor whose work and work ethics I admire and trust).  Each technician was polite and professional in their demeanor and work performance.  In advance I was informed of where the work would be performed (which section(s) of the house) so that I could plan in advance.  The technicians cleaned up before leaving, so that there was no residual material on the floor.  The installation required going through closets for the duct work, and choices on which closet were discussed with me for minimal impact to our lifestyle.  

The air conditioning unit works exceptionally well.  We had one problem one week after installation, and despite the fact that it was a Sunday night - and a hour drive for the technician on call, he arrived pleasant and quickly performed the minor maintenance.  I would highly recommend this company!!

We were in the middle of doing a whole house renovation and the heating pipes in the kitchen limited the use of the space not allowing us to use that whole side of the kitchen.  We contacted Accutech, they provided a consultation and an estimate and we signed a contract for them to do the work.  On the day of the consultation they checked our overall system and gave us a good understanding of how our system worked.  We just moved into the area and have never had an oil system before.

 On the day the work was to be performed, the technician was extremely professional and provided great tips and advice as he moved along the work areas.  He removed part of the heating system in the kitchen and installed a kick-plate heater in its place, he installed new thermostats throughout.  

What really impressed my husband and I was the time that they took to answer all of our questions.  I also felt that their recommendations were based on what was best for us and not what would make them more money.

Memorial Day weekend, our central air conditioner broke. I called AccuTech around 9:30 AM on Saturday morning. I was connected directly to a dispatcher, I did not have to wait on hold or navigate menus. I explained about the A/C and she told me that a technician would call me shortly. About 25 minutes later, I received a call from the technician. He introduced himself, and immediately explained the emergency hours charges. He helped me deliberate whether or not to wait until the business week instead of paying the premium, I appreciated that very much. I agreed to have him come out to diagnose the issue, and he said that he had several other appointments in front of me, and he'd probably get to me "later in the afternoon". He said he would call and let me know what time he'd be available. At this point, I'd rate my experience with this company "very good". And that is also the end of the good experience. Late afternoon turned into early evening, then into night time. It is now 9 PM and I have still not heard from the technician. Needless to say, I won't be using their services. I will call another company in the morning.

"We feel that an “F” rating from an Angie’s List member, for whom we have no information whatsoever, is not warranted, and not verifiable. When our technicians receive emergency service calls during “off hours”, especially on holiday weekends, they are sometimes overwhelmed, so the possibility exists that this could have occurred, but since there was no work performed we do not have a documented account of the call. That being said let me also say that we receive many, many calls from customers just shopping around for rates and options, especially “off hours”. Many times we have been told that they want us to come to their house, only to find that when we are available and call them to confirm, they have already contacted another service provider, almost always because of price, but didn’t call us back to let us know. Too bad we can’t rate them as customers! If in fact the member did call our company on Memorial Day weekend last year, and we did not call him back, I can only assume that the technician assumed that since the customer did not call back, he decided against us coming out, or he contacted another service provider; Or perhaps our technician understood that the customer was going to call us back if he indeed wanted us to come. A lot of assumptions here, but again, since we have no documented record of the event, because no service actually took place, I’m sorry I can’t be more specific. I can tell you that we received more than 50 calls for service last Memorial Day weekend and that our “on call” technicians were very, very busy. I am sorry that one of them missed the member's opportunity, but again, I don’t believe that should be considered to be bad service on our part, especially under the circumstances. We pride ourselves on providing first class, quality service to our customers, and strive to maintain our customers for life. Thank you for this opportunity to respond! They installed my A/C and Heater, and I used them for about 4 years for the annual maintenance.  However, during that time (2 visits per year), I got 4-5 no-shows or very late with no phone call.  The last one for A/C in May 2013 was finally my last.  I had gotten into the habit of calling a few days prior to confirm my appt, since I have to take vacation from work for the appt., and they had proven to be unreliable on showing up on time.  I just can't keep using vacation and not getting something completed.  In May the technician was two hours late, and showed up when I was getting ready to leave for work.  This would be workable if they would call me, but they don't.  Plus, I gave them my cell phone number countless times over the years, and they kept calling me in the office.  My last voicemail from them, at my office, saying it was the only phone number they had... don't know where they kept my cell phone every time I gave it to somebody in the office.  But, they never did call me and leave a message during the two hours I was waiting, they just called after their technician told them I sent him away.  Like I said, this wasn't a one time thing.  This was the 4th or 5th time, and I just felt that I gave them enough time and this was going to keep happening.  Particularly since I explained it to the office the first few times, and reminded them that this was scheduled vacation for me, so at the very least if they were going to be dealing with an emergency, they should be in contact with me and let me know.

They do nice work, and the price is reasonable.  If you are at home anyway and just need to schedule somebody to come out at some point, then they should be fine.  But if you need to schedule vacation and want to hear from somebody if they are going to be 30-60 minutes late, just be cautious.

Mike in the office was great to work with and helpful with whatever questions I had. I found them in the yellow pages last year when I had a problem with my hot water heater and they came out the same morning to access the problem, and then installed new hot water heater on the same day. Extremely helpful and courteous. I compared pricing on internet and had 2 other quotes, and this was in line with all quotes. They helped me with two additional rebates (haven't received rebates checks yet, but expect that will work out fine). The installers were extremely courteous, fast and efficient. Very happy with this company. I've been in my house for 10 years and I'm glad I found AccuTech. I had 3 other HVAC companies through the years and always felt like I was being ripped off and never got the same courteous and helpful phone contact that I get with Mike. Very happy to recommend AccuTech.
