Mooney's was the right choice for us. They came early and quickly and efficiently filled their truck. They took it right to the new apartment in the retirement home and had Mom & Dad ready to go before dinner. No problems.

Phenomenal experience with Mooney's Moving & Storage! 5 plus stars! We are moving my Dad in with us, it was a large job. Mooney's was the best. An honest estimate, great timing and scheduling. Reasonable prices and insurance. Best of all the personnel at this business are top notch! From the owner who personally handled the arrangements, to the lead mover who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and capable, to the entire crew who were also as professional, polite, efficient, and personable as the lead, I was extremely satisfied. Not to mention their good-natured banter being amusing. Additionally, the original schedule was for three days total, but there was a large winter storm approaching, and instead of letting the storm be an issue, Mooney's sent extra personnel in the morning of the second day to finish loading and an extra crew in afternoon to unload it all to get the job done in two days instead of three. Now that is dedication as well as consideration for personnel and clientele! I highly recommend Mooney's Moving & Storage the are truly 5 star!

There estimate was extremely high I wasn't moving across the country just moving to the next state over. They were charging over 250.00 dollars. No no, I said the rate they were charging me was like I was moving across the country. From them yes I did but what I am saying is was saying it was excessive. Over 2500.00, I was only moving from Pennsylvania to Newark, Delaware an hour away not several hours.  I just thought their rate was excessive.  So I didn't use them.
Response from Mooney's Moving & Storage

"As a 4th generation owner of my families business we take great pride in our work. I do not understand how we can be graded as a D based on what is perceived as a high estimate. No work was even completed for this homeowner and we receive a D on quality? Steven DeSteffano 4th Generation Owner (215)884-3280"

Did a great job - arrived during the stated time interval. Were professional and hard working. Cost a little higher than others, but Mooney's reviews were more positive, so decided to go with them.

Steve was helpful with all the logistics and forms. Mike led the moving team and he and the guys were so easy to deal with. They handled all of our furniture with care. They covered our floors to protect them and were very patient with us when we weren't exactly sure where things had to go in the new house. Every member of the team congratulated us on our new home. We really could not have been happier with this team!

We were amazed by the dedication and efficiency of all of the movers. They were there exactly when they said they would arrive, and they worked without taking a break for the next five hours. They finished four hours earlier than they had expected and thus saved us a significant amount of money. They were extremely professional, kind, and good at what they do. They made sure that everything looked exactly the way we wanted it to look before they left. They are extremely hardworking and dedicated. It was the most positive moving experiences we have had!

On April 30th i called them and informed them that I needed to be moved on May 22nd.  They told me that they put me down for the afternoon move on May 22nd. We set up an appointment for the estimate on Friday May 8th.  I thought everything was OK and was looking forward to meeting with them. I made arrangements to be off work on May 22nd.  I took off 1/2 day at work TODAY to meet them for the estimate as arranged.  They called me early THIS MORNING and told me that they were all booked up for May 22nd and expected me to change my move in date to May 20th.  Within an hour I hired another company who will move me on my scheduled date.  YOU HAVE FAILED A GOOD CUSTOMER IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE! THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKED CON ARTISTS!  DO NOT USE THEM!
Response from Mooney's Moving & Storage

"We had (removed member name) scheduled for an estimate on Friday May 8th. We cannot and do not book jobs until we have competed an in-home estimate. In between scheduling his estimate and when we were supposed to meet we met our capacity limit. We do not overbook dates and we informed (removed member name) of this fact. How is this bait and switch? My family has owned and operated Mooney's for 96 years and I believe this review is a completely inacurate portrayal of my company."

We had used Mooney's for our last move and had a great experience. Unfortunately that was not the case this time around. The owner came out to our house to give us a quote. We were moving out of a 2 bed, 2 bath townhouse with a loft and unfinished basement. He quoted us 2 men and a supervisor for right around $1200. We thought that was more than reasonable and again based on our previous experience went ahead a booked the for our move.

Moving day came and they were right on time and were personable. Two of the guys came into the house to take a look at what they were dealing with and immediately began to complain about how there should have been four guys quoted for the job, which set the tone for the whole day basically.

They got right to work and everything seemed to be going smoothly until they got to the basement and saw that there were some "loose items" (and by loose I mean things in a large Rubbermaid containers without a lid) and a generator. They said they couldn't move "stuff like that" and that we would have to do it ourselves. My boyfriend called the owner who had given us the quote and explained that he had been out and saw what was to be moved and made no mention of any of it and also that the movers had complained that there should have been a fourth guy. The owner seemed disinterested and reluctantly offered to call the supervisor, which he didn't do. Since were moving out of the area and it was, you know, moving day we basically bribed them with $100 each to move the "stuff like that." I had also bought bed bags for all three mattress sets and they didn't bother to put them on as asked.

Took about 4 hours to load up and about 1 hour to get where we were going. We were moving into a brand new place and I thought they might put plastic of something down to protect the new carpet like last time, but no such luck. That was just the beginning of it. They took no care moving our things and no care with the actual house (did I mention it was brand new?). There are so many dings and digs in the walls we are going to have to spend half a day repairing them. The 60 inch television was run right into the ceiling over the entry stairs and I only realized it when I looked at the corner of the TV and it was covered in paint and drywall. The spot where they hit the ceiling has a nice 1/2 inch divot out of it. They brought in a dresser and didn't secure the drawers so when they brought it upstairs the drawers all slide out right into the wall causing all sorts of digs and marks. The dining room table is all scratched and dinged now and then they stacked three heavy kitchen boxes on a hand truck and the hand truck went of the side of the ramp from the truck and crashed into the pavement. They were nonchalant about it and probably wouldn't have said a word if we hadn't seen it happen.

It is also interesting to me that they ask you where you want things and yet just put them where they wanted to anyway. All sorts of things wound up in the basement naturally because it was on the first floor. I mean kitchen items, clothes, bathroom stuff all in the basement and the kicker is not only were they directed where to put literally every single thing (my boyfriend directed the from garage and I was in the living room), but I went through the hassle of buying those stickers you put on the boxes to identify what room they went in and apparently that was a complete waste of time.

So in conclusion DO NOT hire these movers! They won't treat your things or your home with respect.

From the very beginning Steve was very professional and documented everything in the house. He even gave me very good tips for dealing with other movers should I not pick Mooney's. I felt completely at ease from the beginning. Steve came back for a final walk through a week before the move to make sure we had the amount he originally documented. I really appreciated this second visit as it made me feel at ease that there would not be any surprises.
The move was well coordinated, communication was excellent including follow up calls, etc. I felt that they had everything under control. The truck arrived for delivery on time and was able to fit into a gated neighborhood that really isn't big enough to get trucks of that size through. We had no damage to any of our belongings and I never saw a dropped box or piece of furniture mis-handled. The driver was the best and all of the workers were courteous and friendly at all times.
The entire experience from beginning to end was very pleasurable and believe me, I can tell you mover stories from the past! I would sincerely highly recommend Mooney's to anyone. This is a family business with generations of experience, and it shows.
Well done guys.

We used Mooney's on the way out to MA in 2011.  They were prompt, professional, incredibly fast, and NOTHING was broken or even scratched.  We were so happy with their service that on the move BACK to PA in 2013 we contacted them again.  The service was again superb.  Very professional, friendly, fast, efficient.  It was such a pleasure working with them.  I would recommend them highly to anyone who is about to move.

I called to get an estimate on how much it would cost for Mooney's to move us from Jamison, pa to Easton, pa.  Mooney's sent someone out to walk through our  house and give us an estimate.  I was given an estimate right away.  They were able to move us on the date we picked.  They told us they would be at our house at 9 a.m. and they were right on time.  The movers were great!  They worked very hard and were fast.  They arrived at our new house with our belongings.  Every thing was in good condition and nothing was damaged.  The movers were very professional and asked where to place everything.  One mover even asked me if it was ok to keep the basement door open while they brought things down because he was concerned about my toddler falling down the basement stairs.  The total cost ended up being less than the actual estimate.  We will be moving again sometime next year and we plan on using Mooney's again.

I would never recommend this moving company to anyone unless they are heavily insured for broken items.  I learned my lesson the hard way and want to share my horrible experience with Mooney's Moving Company.  I was given a quote from Steve DeSteffano who is a 4th Generation Owner of this company.  He estimated my move at $701.00 which was for 1 Van, 3 Men, 3 Wardrobe Cartons, Travel time & Fuel Charge.  The final bill was $853.00 and I gave a $120 tip so my cost was $973.00.
The day of the move the team showed up on time, they did not have the 3 Wardrobe Cartons on the truck, but someone did bring them later.  My 2 bedroom townhouse was cleared out by noon, the team said they don't take lamps because they tend to break, that should of sounded alarm bells right there, but I took them in my car separately.
The moving truck followed me over to the new location a mile away, they had everything unloaded and were done at 1:40 pm.
They basically stack several boxes on top of each other in each room.  As I started to unpack one of the Fragile boxes that I
personally packed myself with bubble wrap I saw broken glass at the bottom of the box.  This box was dropped because all
of the items were smashed beyond repair.  The items were 7 wine glasses, a Pottery Barn vase and Lladro Porcelain figures.
I called Steve to report that my items were broken and he told me because I did not have the full value protection I could only claim 60 cents per pound.  So after paying Mooney's $973.00 and my damages totaling $1,005.00 the check that Steve sent me was for a whopping $6.60!  What an insult as I told Steve directly.  So, if you want to be treated like that then by all means hire Mooney's, they seem to know how to treat their customers and want repeat business.  What a joke, I have moved several times in my life and not 1 item ever broke until this disaster.  What a complete nightmare.
Response from Mooney's Moving & Storage

"As the 4th generation of my family to own & operate Mooney’s I find this review to be disheartening. I would also like to provide more information than [member name removed] has provided. The actual charges were in fact $152.00 more than the estimate. While I understand this is not ideal I also do not find the one hour additional required to compete the move anything excessive. The $120.00 included for tip to the movers was at the sole discretion of the customer for quality service. I personally explained the liability coverage to [member name removed] prior to the move. She elected for the basic valuation coverage of $0.60 per pound per article. This level of coverage is mandated by the Pennsylvania Utility Commission and is the same for every moving company in Pennsylvania. Upgraded coverage is available however it was declined by [member name removed]. The box in question was neither dropped, physically crushed nor professionally packed by anyone at Mooney’s. I am sorry this matter has become public but I am unwilling to as [member name removed] wanted “pay her to make this go away.” If anyone has further questions I can be personally contacted via email [email protected] or (215)884-3280."
