Charley Miller brought in a crew of highly experienced workers to do the work.  He worked alongside them.  They moved and covered the basement shelving and other items, put down protective covering on the floor, and went to work.  They worked non-stop.  It was clear that they were a well-managed team.  I was astonished at how much they accomplished in a couple of days.  Charley regularly reviewed the work being done and was meticulous.
Charley also made sure that the work site was thoroughly cleaned up when the job was completed.
I should add that the entire team was very amiable and they made it easy to have them working here while we went about our daily routine.
We would recommend Miller Masonry to anyone who needs this kind of work done.  They are excellent craftsmen.

The retaining wall that Mr. Miller took down had been built when the house was built some 55 years ago. Over the years it had cracked, and this last winter the crack widened. I thought it was time to replace the wall because I wanted to sell the house. I called Mr. Miller because I got a flyer in my door advertising his experience of 35 years and I thought he was just the right man to look at this situation. He came out and gave me a suggestion that I liked but which my neighbor didn't, so back I went to Mr. Miller. He came out again, and gave me  a price to take down the whole wall and replace it. Since competence, in my opinion, is more important than price,  when it comes to building walls, I decided he was just the right guy and accepted his contract. The contract was to be paid in thirds, the last payment when he had finished and if I was satisfied. I viewed the progress as he went along and saw the intelligent way he was building things, and the trouble he went to protect the neighbor's tree, and to clean up her side of the boundary. He built a wall that was much stronger than the one that had been there. As his helpers joked with me "Let's see anyone try to take down this wall!" It was an excellent job and I would recommend him to anyone needing a wall. He knows his stuff, and he stayed with his crew the whole time, working with them, teaching them, explaining things. Really an excellent mason.
