John Membrino Building Contractor

John's work is great, his personality and professionalism, not so much. He was really difficult to work with - I work at home but told my husband I refused to interact with John unless completely necessary (ie, he needed an answer on something ASAP or we had a request). He's a sour puss, and he says things I've never heard another professional contractor say ("I already told you I'm not going back again to find that exact fan. If that's the one you must have, you need to get it yourself. And I'm going to charge you an extra $150 to come back and reinstall.") I spoke to many of the sub-contractors he works with (most of whom were great!) and they all echo the same sentiment - he does great work but isn't pleasant to work with; most of them have worked with him for years so understand his "personality quirks". This may work for them, but as the person paying John to come to my house as a paid professional, it certainly didn't work for me.

He is excellent. He started around the first of August. We went with him because of the cost and he does excellent work. He comes highly recommended by other contractors. He was building a house behind us and we sought him out because we saw his work. He does a lot of the work himself and he is a perfectionist. He is no-nonsense. He is very professional.
