Electrician was recommended through our pool service company (whom we like ) to rewire our new pool heater. There was confusion and miscommunication from the start regarding this work, including a rather terse telephone exchange with owner, Peter Dubay. After a couple of misfires, we finally received an estimate of between $400-$600, depending on if they needed to change anything at the box. We didn't believe anything needed to be changed at the box, and gave the go ahead for the work. Workers arrived as scheduled- a couple of young men, who connected the new wiring for the new heater. This work required going into the attic above our garage to route the new wires to the box. Somehow one of the workers inadvertently either stepped on, or dropped something heavy, onto the ceiling of the garage, causing a significant crack, large enough to cause the ceiling to sag. When we pointed this out, the young men attempted to fix this by hammering nails into the stuccoed ceiling. This helped with the sagging, but looked awful - nails on both sides of a large crack!! We pointed out that this solution wasn't acceptable, and they said they would speak to Mr Dubay and come back to fix it properly. Mr. Dubay did send one of the men back, this time with some paint. He then tried to cover the crack and nails up with spray paint, which also didn't work. At that time, we received an invoice from Mr Duby via the mail. No note regarding the ceiling issue, no acknowledgment of any problems - just the invoice. We responded with a letter to Mr. Dubay, stating that we would be happy to pay the invoice when the ceiling was repaired. We were informed that someone would be out again to repair the ceiling. The same young man appeared a few days later, this time with stucco repair spray. We tried to explain that in order to do the job correctly, he needed to scrape off the stucco from the cracked section, fix the crack, and then spray with stucco repair. He said he didn't know how to do that, and that he'd have Mr Dubay give us a call. As of January 28th, we have yet to hear from Mr Dubay, or have our ceiling repaired properly. BUT...we have received a PAST DUE inotice, the only communication thus far. As far as we know, the electrical work was completed properly, but every other aspect of this job has been unprofessional and less-than-stellar. I don't blame the workers- I blame Mr Dubay for his lack of interest and response.
