The entire project was set for 71,000. While the price was great and the Proctors seemed to be qualified, things quickly soured after C. Ray Proctor decided to putty a main bathroom pipe rather than disclosing that it had a leak in it. I learned of the leak after a brand new tub was installed and the leaking water rusted the new tub. His wife was livid that I refused to accept a brand new tub with rust spots for two reasons: 1. As the contractors they should have informed me that they discovered a leak and let me decide whether or not I wanted the plumbing expense to come out of my budget. 2. Since they chose to cover it up, rather than let me decide, then I figured they'd either clean the tub, or eat the cost. After that, things just went down hill...at a fast pace. The proctors began installation of the soffet and fascia, never completed it. They began installing some gutters, never completed that. Installed 22 windows and never put insulation or caulking around two attic windows. They never thought I'd go up to the attic to check these windows. There are gaping 2 inch gaps around all for sides of each of these windows. They also left the windows that they removed in my attic. They are paid to remove them after installation of the new windows. I tried Mr. Proctor to give him, yet another opportunity to redeem himself, he never returned my call. Only have my receptacles works; they assured me that they were going to "wire" them when they installed the lighting. However, they never installed the lighting either. In fact, I was left to do several tasks that they were paid to do in order to pass my occupancy permit. After blowing through half of my budget and bailing on the project I still do not have a kitchen, a place to cook for my young child. The proctors also used materials that were already on my property to partially repair my roof and billed me for materials, in addition to complete labor. They boast that they are "called to do work for widows, single mothers and the elderly." It seems that they've chosen to perform work for that particular audience, as we are the most vulnerable. I recently found out that there inferior work was not just limited to myself. They have half-done several other jobs and complain about having to go back to "deal" with the work that they started. It's unfortunate that I found out too late, but I hope this review will prevent someone else from falling victim to their scam. I had to find a legitimate, qualified contractor to complete ALL of the work at the Proctors left unfinished.
