This company is excellent.  They are extremely professional and do excellent work.  Scheduled quote quickly and accommodated an extremely early meet time so I could get to work myself.  Installation was scheduled quickly and done well.  Was respectful of our home, kept work area clean and neat and was very personable.

I knew that I wanted to have oak steps and railings and was strongly leaning towards non-oak risers and spindles. I had already decided on the spindle model and type of railing (from Internet). I had done a bit of homework on the job as well.
I called and asked for them to come to my houise and give me a quote. This was done on time and all questions about job and details were answered at that time. The written quote came as promised a few days later. The price was reasonable (stairs are not cheap). The installers came and finished the job without incident.
My house is a David Cutler Colonial built in 1987. The carpeted stairs and basic builder grade staircase were really showing wear and tear. The new install will definitely pay off some day if I ever sell the house. In the meantime it is much more enjoyable to have a very attractive (and up to code) staircase and is not an embarrassment when opening the front door.

This company is terrific. We could not have asked for a better contractor. Stairworks Inc. has a very reliable, fast and cost-efficient procedure for installing staircases. We saw pics of several of their projects and they were beautiful - from simple designs to really intricate/different ones. We thought our project would be one of the simple ones but I picked a wood (birch) that is apparently very, very difficult to stain correctly. The first set of treads just didn't match the flooring. Stairworks went way beyond the call of duty to get us a stain that did match. They were very patient both with finding a way to apply the stain and working with our schedule. They even hired a cabinet maker to get the right finish. The stairs are beautiful! The color is gorgeous, the craftsmanship is perfection and they even did an incredible job patching the small dry wall scrapes. The sales staff, office help and installation crew (THANK YOU MIKE) were professional, responsive, and just plain nice. I would definitely hire them again.

My contractor hired this company to create two custom staircases. One was a basic pine staircase, came out fine. The other is a gorgeous staircase made from the threshing floor of the old barn we build out home from. I LOVE IT! They made it smoother than they usually do since we have young kids and I was worried about splinters. Great work!

I showed them photos of my ideal railing, but their estimate came in higher than what I wanted to spend. Brent in estimating was understanding and spent time working with me to make some adjustments in the design so that I was happy with both the price and the look. My husband and I absolutely love the final product! It made a huge difference in the space. The carpenter who came to do the work was professional and kind. I'm an interior designer by trade and can be very picky but he did a great job getting it just right. .

We discovered this company while browsing the internet and visiting stairworksinc.us. Our initial contact with Michelle was quickly followed up by a visit from Doug. We were installing hardwood flooring and wanted to update the railing which surrounded our sunken living room. We also needed to replace two sets of stairs that led down into the room. Doug showed us options and explained in detail the pros and cons of each choice. Even though the wood and wrought iron selections in his portfolio were beautiful, we decided to go with glass inserts between the newels to create a more open feeling. Doug was quite helpful in guiding us with our decision even though he made less money with our choice. Stairworks timed their work to coordinate with our flooring contractor and our glass installer, and they worked hard to match the unusual color of our hardwood flooring. When finished, they made certain that we were pleased with the outcome. We are 100% satisfied with their workmanship, expertise, friendliness, and professionalism.

Stairworks installed a oak railing with spindles on our curved staircase and did a great job. We placed calls to four companies and only two replied; Stairworks being one of them. The first estimate from another company came in at $5500. Plus, an additional $1200 if they wouldn't be able to build it on site. We then got the estimate from Stairworks and we were thrilled. Of course, we were a little leary of the price (How could it be so much less?). Several of our neighbors have looked into replacing the wrought iron railings that were standard equipment on these circa 1970 houses and they got similarly outrageously high estimates. Stairworks did a masterful job matching the curve of the handrail and it looks beautiful and was installed well and in only six hours.
