The gentleman who did the work (Ron) was very pleasant and professional. He also made it clear that we'd been grossly overcharged for the job but that there was nothing he could do about it at that point. Charles (the head of the Mount Pocono office) had given us a quote and made the job seem vastly more complicated than it ended up being. He is a liar and should not be trusted. Bottom line....they charged us $300 an hour for labor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In addition to $200 for parts when the parts didn't cost anywhere near that. I gave the office a chance to respond before writing this. Mary specifically told me that Charles is the boss and he said it was an $800 job so that's that. I reminded them that our initial conversations were about a complete update of our antiquated septic system (i.e., $15,000+). I chalk this up to an expensive learning experience. I shake my head at the fact that they were willing to turn down tends of thousands of dollars of future business for a couple hundred dollars. I would never, ever trust a quote coming from these people. I'm glad that Ron was decent enough to say something about how Avalanche was ripping us off. He seemed like a good guy. And it has saved us from future mistakes of ever working with Avalanche again.

He also made it clear that we'd been grossly overcharged for the job but that there was nothing he could do about it at that point. He was literally shocked that we'd been quoted so much for a simple 2-hour job. They don’t communicate well. They’re higher priced than some of the other companies. They also sent a soil specialist to my property without even consulting me. The soil specialist sent an unlicensed surveyor to survey the property. A couple weeks later, Avalanche sent two reps to survey the property again. I’m not sure why would send an unlicensed representative
Description of Work: They came out to look into a septic issue at my home.
