Good customer relations, excellent follow thru on getting quote and any questions answered. After initial issue with manufacturer error in delivered door, which Springhouse corrected and a glitch in the install. They revamped their schedule to return the next day to complete the job. I am using this company again. I have already ordered a new window!

A good price for a very good quality window and door.  We initially were looking for a sliding door with an internal blind to block sunlight, mostly due to effects of UV light on wood floor.  Springhouse recommend a door and window option that did not have the internal blinds, but did have a high UV index, so it would accomplish the goal we were looking for.  The installer arrived on time and the work was excellent.  He had to come back the next day to complete the work, but he left the work area clean between days and cleaned up thoroughly when the job was done.We will certainly use SpringHouse for future window needs and  would definitely recommend them to others.

Springhouse Windows and Doors in Springhouse, PA were absolutely the most professional company we have ever hired from beginning to completion of project. The owner Jack and his partner did everything and anything above and beyond our satisfaction. The contractor they sent out to do the work (Ryan) was just as professional and a very meticulous and artistic carpenter! All the work was completed in the time frame specified by Springhouse Windows. The windows look absolutely fantastic and have transformed the entire look of our once dated looking 1950's home to a very modern and contemporary look. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone interested in replacing their windows. Jack was also very helpful in coming up with the design for our new windows. We will be using them again in the near future. I give them an A+

Went well.  Utilized salesperson, Tom, who is an amazing asset to the company.  He was responsive and an excellent resource for questions we had about windows.  Delivery was timely and things arrived as they should.

It took ~3 weeks to ship the windows, which is exactly what we were told when we placed our order.  We had an installation date later that same week.  Dan did the installation.  He did excellent work, was extremely fast (approximately 6 -7 hours on each of two days), and very friendly.  The windows were Marvin double clad and they are top quality windows.  We are very happy with both the quality of the windows as well as the workmanship.  And the price was significantly less than a comparable quote that we received from the local Pella store.  We will be going back to Springhouse when we need to replace any other windows or doors.

A representative from Springhouse Window & Door, Hockessin, DE politely showed me window choices in their local showroom.  He then visited our residence and conducted a very cursory inspection.  A "convertible" proposal was promptly provided.  (The proposal converts into a contract when the homeowner signs it.)  The proposal did state price options, but failed to outline the number of windows and door that were to be provided, that the new windows and door were to be installed at the residence address, provide fundamental evidence of business license, business insurance, and workman's compensation.  Further, the SWD proposal made reference to some sort of lifetime guarantee, but failed to explain the guarantee.  There were many other contract omissions as well.  At least in my opinion, a job of this size deserves a "tight" contract.  The general vagueness of the SWD's proposal/contract made me very uneasy, so I decided to place this job with another vendor.
Response from SpringHouse Window & Door

"We regret that our standard contract did not suit this customer’s need. All of the above concerns would have been promptly and satisfactorily resolved if the customer had expressed his concerns to us directly. We wish him good fortune in his search for a provider that suits his needs."

I contacted Springhouse and Jack came on the day agreed upon to give us our options and to do the measurements.  The quote arrived only a few days later, outlining the scope of the work and the materials to be used.  I had done my homework and his quote was in the ballpark of what I thought it would cost, so I gave him my deposit and was informed that the installation would be in about 4-6 weeks. True to his word, I was contacted for an agreed upon date to begin the work in the timeframe he quoted.

All work was completed in 2 days and I could not be more pleased.  The primary installer (Josh) couldn't have been more professional, friendly and helpful.  Everything was installed to my satisfaction, all was cleaned up after, and I am very happy with the overall transaction.  Would I use them again?  Without hesitation..

Jack handled this quote/install for me. I had 4 Marvin Integrity windows installed in my townhome. He was prompt handling the quote process, especially before the 2010 deadline for the Federal Tax Credit expiry. The installer they sent out was great to deal with and handled all my questions without issue. I noticed when he unpacked the windows, the wrong glass had been shipped out. I called Jack to confirm the order, and he acknowledged Marvin had sent the wrong order specs for my job. The windows were installed, but Jack is in process now to provide the correct replacement sashs to me shortly. This is a small inconvenience I'm willing to tolerate with people I can trust. This is my 2nd window install experience with Springhouse, and again it was very positive. They are prompt, return phone calls, and leave the house without a mess. I have another round of windows to install yet, and they're getting my business.

I did my homework and talked to people. They were very knowledgeable. They sell nothing but good-quality stuff. They do a terrific job. They have three stores, where you can go in and look at their products. They're on time, clean, and neat. There's never any clean-up after they leave. I had trouble with the front door, and they were right there the next day to make the necessary adjustment.

The experience began very well, but ended on a sour note. They were very prompt when we asked for an estimate, coming over the next day. Jack, the person who did the estimate was personable and helpful. Rather than having them do everything, we decided we wanted to see how they handled one job, so we had them do the French doors in the bedroom. We had to get the electrician in first to move the wires in the walls, but he had some questions for the door installers, so the electrician came back and was there first thing on the day the doors were to be installed. Along with installing the doors, a very narrow door on the same wall next to the new doors was to be filled in. Apparently, the door installation was only to take one day, but took 2 days instead. Springhouse blamed it on the electrician and eventually on us. They did an excellent job of replacing the double windows with the French Doors (they look fantastic) and did an acceptable job of replacing the siding to cover up the hole left by the narrow door. However, almost all of the wall board on that wall needed to be replaced. The young man who installed the door replaced the wall board and put the first layer of mud on it. He said he would be back, because it needed another layer or two of mud. Jack, from Springhouse, called and chastised me because the job took 2 days instead of one and said they weren't supposed to repair the wall on the inside, only on the outside, and it wasn't included in the estimate. He said that if they did come back to finish putting the mud on the wall it would cost $69/hour. The worker had said it would only take a couple of hours, so I said we would be willing to pay that, but I told him that I really wanted to paint the room over the Memorial weekend, so I was hoping the wall would be finished as soon as possible. Jack said okay, but he wasn't sure when they would be able to finish it. SIX weeks later, we got a call saying they had time to come finish it and the guy would be at our house within the hour. Since we hadn't been able to find anyone to finish the job (I was actually considering attempting to do it myself), I said okay. The young man showed up on time, was very courteous and was there for about 45 minutes. My spouse was getting ready for work, so we made him wait about 15 of those 45 minutes. He came back the next day to sand and put on the third layer of mud; another 45 minutes, with about 15-20 minutes of that being wait time. We were charged $207 for those 45 minutes. We still have the other doors that we want installed, but because of Jack's attitude, we will definitely take our business elsewhere and will not recommend Springhouse to anyone, especially if they have a small job.

Overall I am very pleased w/Spring House windows and would use them again and recommend to friends. We were nervous installing windows due to strict rules set out by the condo association and a negative experience with a different company. However the entire experience with Spring House windows was wonderful. Jack gave the estimate and was on-time and very professional. He was not just a salesman but was obviously experienced with installing products. Jack provided me with many options for quality, color and features for the windows and doors. Their installation was very high quality and they did not cut any corners (even when doing it right probably cost them $). Prior to ripping out my old windows the measured the replacement window and the new window to make sure that there were not any errors. They took their time to properly install the windows and everything turned out great. There are no air drafts from the windows and the house is cooler in summer with the new windows. Spring house also did a great job with my storm door. Initially they installed the storm door but realized that the door was not properly supported by the frame. I had no idea but they pointed out the problems and showed me that many of my neighbors had the same problem - their storm doors don't shut completely and may eventually fall out. Spring House told me that they would never install a door in that manner and that a frame build out was needed to properly secure the door. They returned with all the tools and materials to do the work right and did not charge me for the extra work and materials! They also cleaned up very well both inside and outside. Everything was to my satisfaction. In addition my condo association had no problems with the work or the clean-up. Unfortunately in 2009 I used a different window installer for another property and I can literally see the superiority of Spring House windows installers and products. I highly recommend Spring House windows and doors to anyone looking for quality windows, doors and installers at a reasonable price.

Springhouse replaced 17 faulty windows they had previously installed. The manufacturer of the original windows went out of business so it wasn't possible to have the manufacturer repair/replace them. While it wasn't Springhouse's responsibility make good on the faulty windows, they offered to replace them with new windows at their cost. Their offer was much more gracious than I would have expected from any distributor/installer in these circumstances.

There was a problem on the day the job was originally scheduled that could have been communicated to me earlier. Spring House made good on this by sending two people out the next day. Both of these gentlemen were true professionals. They installed a new window, which meant cutting an opening in our home, and moved another one in one day. Their work was excellent.
