Steve was recommended by a friend when I was having a problem with my older central air system last summer.   I know I have to replace it but I am trying to hold off as long as possible before I do so. Well it was a sweltering Sunday last July when the fan on my central air system went out of commission.   I put a call into Steve on a Sunday morning (not expecting to hear from him until Monday) and within 1 hour I got a call back direct from Steve.  I described our issue and he said he had a few other emergencies he was working on that day but that he would be out later that day to take care of our issue. Sure enough a few hours later Steve came in to save the day. First he stopped back at his shop to get the parts needed based off our description and age of the system.  He had the parts replaced and the system back up and running in 2 hours.  I was truly amazed, it is rare to get this level of service these days - especially on a Sunday.  I had to force a tip into his hand for the truly fantastic service he provided.  I now recommend him to all my friends and have not had any complaints whatsoever. That brings us to this year 2011. I know I have to replace my central air system so I try it out before it gets real hot out to make sure it is ready for the season.  I tried it on that very warm day or two in late April and it was giving me problems.  I called Steve in a panic and he sent a man right out right away that day to fix a small problem. When I am ready to replace my system there is no question who I will use - It's Steve Schneider's company.  Steve is a true professional in every sense of the word.  He never tried to push us into a new system.   He told us that when we are ready let him know and he will recommend the best system for our needs. Steve, thanks to you and your men for all your help.  

Steven is a craftsman in love with his craft. He does things correctly. We replaced our entire HVAC system. At the start of the project Steven explained our options and actually recommended a less expensive and more reliable solution than we were asking for. He started on time and brought thick rugs and mats to protect our home. Each morning he sent us an email to explain when he would be at the house and what he was going to do that day.  At the end of each day he reported the work completed.  Steven’s workmanship is superb. His duct work, piping, and construction are a work of art. Steven even returned to the house on his day off (after the job was finished) to explain how we could self-service our air filter and humidifier diffusion plate.  Although Steven is based in the suburbs, and our home is in center city, Steve handled all of the inconveniences of working in the city without complaint or delay. Steve is a true pro and a great guy. I would recommend him to anyone.

Steven was patient in providing me with all the pertinent information and in helping me make an informed decision. He was professional, prompt, timely, clean, informative, flexible around other work being done and true to his estimate. The job began when promised, and was complete within the timeframe provided when the estimate was given. I would hire him again in an instant for any work needing to be done. Two days before the official switchover from old to new, the old system "died" with the temperature overnight well below freezing. Steven came to the house on a Sunday morning (before the official start of the job) and found a simple solution to what could have been a disastrous problem. He was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. I have already recommended him to several people who have asked about who did the work in my home.

Steven was the upmost professional by setting our expectations, meeting all deadlines, and providing us with the services and information to make the process very smooth. He also guided us on the PECO and state rebates that will assist us financially. He work was impeccable, and our house was left clean and organized. We needed someone we could trust as we both have very busy schedules. We are looking forward to lower heating and air conditioning bills, and all that clanging we lived with is gone. The process was effortless on our part, and Steven did everything to make sure we were pleased.

Steven Schneider responded quickly and professionally to my request for proposal; his proposal was the most comprehensive of all the contractors contacted. He provided a very detailed account of what to expect in terms of the equipment that would be installed, the installation process and the timeline for completion. While Steven's price was not the lowest of the proposals received, the strong recommendation in combination with his detailed proposal and explanation of how he would perform the work was convincing. Every step of the way, he provided information on what had been accomplished and what to expect next. Each day, Steven and his co-worker arrived in a timely fashion and left the house spotless. The project was completed on time, within budget and with much less disruption to the household than was anticipated. It was a pleasure having work done by someone who clearly takes great pride in his work and satisfying to be able to award a project to a local, small business owner.

After 20 years of living with an ineffective cook-top vent, I asked Steve Schneider if he could figure out a way to vent to the outside a previously un-vented kitchen range hood. My kitchen did not have any outside walls so the task involved determining the most efficient and cost effective way to to get the duct work to the outside. Steve analyzed the problem and quickly decided on the best way to solve the problem. On the day of the job he arrived promptly, completed the job in a reasonable amount of time and left the job site cleaner than when he started! This is not the first time Steve has solved a difficult problem for me-I appreciate the way he is willing to tackle an issue that other contractors don't want to touch. Of course he is also great with the routine maintenance as well. I have used Schneider's Heating and AC happily for many years and wish that dealing with all contractors could be as pleasant and successful as my experience with Schneider's.

My experience with Schneiders was absolutely wonderful -- Stephen and his colleague David arrived exactly at the time promised. The time spent assessing our current heating system, its limitations and positives, and subsequent recommendation was top notch. Each section of the system was inspected and a thorough explanation was provided detailing why the system was performing at its current level. Their professionalism was exceptional. At no time did I feel like their was a hard sell taking place -- rather Stephen stated he would present alternatives in a least costly to higher cost manner. I am very happy I found Stephen and his company via Angie's list and will have absolutely no hesitation using them for future needs.

Steve answered my call on the first try, he was polite and accommodating to my schedule. He was prompt, neat ,clean and very professional. He replaced a manifold gas valve and a thermocouple, which were needed to light and start our heating system. He was very knowledgeable about our complex heating and air system. Initial call was to repair a leak in the air exchange unit that caused water damage to ceiling below, System had to be tested for apparent defect. Solution required inovative approach to resolve. We are pleased that it was not necessary to have to replace the unit

Steve was great from start to finish. Explained in detail how the system works, the pros/cons of all of our options. Very professional, very detailed, asnwered all of our questions and made us very comfortable with the process. I will be calling Steve to do our A/C when it's time to replace it. I first want to first say, I had used Schneider's heating and air-conditioning when I lived in my previous home over 5 years ago. He always treated my home with the same care and respect one should expect and as he would treat his own home. He was always respectful of my time and would arrive when he stated and was always the extreme professional. It had been at least 5 years since I'd used Schneider's Heating and AC. Recently I called on Schneider's heating and Air conditioning because the AC was running, however the temperature was rising and the AC was not cooling the house. I called Schneider's AC after hours, and within 2 hrs they returned my call. They were able to fit me into their schedule for the very next day. Schneider's went through the entire AC system diagnosed the issue and pumped additional freon into the system. He explained to me the process he follows to diagnose the problem and was able to narrow it down to a valve within the basement unit. He ordered the part and we schedule a time for replacement. He came out on 9/3/2010 to do the replacement and found that potentially the glitch in the valve could have been caused by a small spec of debris in the line and by pressurizing the system and adding some additional freon in the prior visit, the issue was resolved. He did not charge me for today's visit or replace the valve. I have referred Schneider's to many friends and family over the years and will continue to use Schneider's for future needs. I would strongly recommend Schneider's Heating and AC to all.

I came home Friday to find my central air was not working. Yesterday, I looked on angies list for someone close by with a good rating. I called, and Steve Schneider answered the phone. said he would be in the area today, and came out. He found the problem right away, and had the part with him. My unit is 15 years old, and was afraid that I would need to replace it, but Steve saved the day. He is honest, and trustworthy. I would highly recommend him.

They sent a technician within 30 minutes of my call. He was very professional and very helpful in the clarity and thoroughness of his evaluation of the problem. He diagnosed and fixed the system within the first hour, and my AC was up and running once again! He also showed me how to check and install the filters to ensure maintenance of the heat pump system as well as the humidifier and the air cleaner The charges included the diagnostic call, the first hour and the new part, equalling $331. The basic charges had been told to me in advance and were exactly as described on the initial phone call. I will definitely use them again if there is ever an HVAC problem.

We are very pleased with the results, thls was a major project and the work was done with expert knowledge and professional expertise. The work was done very neatly and every step of this major project was explained thoroughly. We always knew what the next step would be and a timeline was updated daily. We thought long and hard before proceeding and have no regrets. I would highly recommond Schneiders Heating and AC to anyone who expects to have quality work done in a timely manner.

I was told by another company that my compressor was shot and that I would need a new (very expensive) air conditioning system. I spoke to my electrician and he told me to call Schneiders to get a second opinion. He said Steve Schneider is the guru of air conditioning systems in the region. Steve Schneider came by today and told me that the compressor was fine and replaced a small part, saving me thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, I believe I was almost scammed by the other company trying to sell me a new system. Schneider's is the only company I will go to in the future.

I called in the morning and spoke to the owner Steve, who was pleasant to deal with. Although I had never used this company before, he remembered our house from interactions with the previous owners and from having been the one to originally install the home's HVAC systems. Although all appointments for that day were booked, he said that sometimes the techs finish up their morning appointments quickly and that he would call me in the afternoon to let me know if someone would have time to stop by, and ended up being able to send someone over that same afternoon. The tech who arrived was polite, and determined that the coolant had leaked out of the unit. Although he spent two hours searching for the source of the leak, he was unable to locate the cause, and so he replaced the coolant and said that if the problem reoccured in the future they would need to dismantle the system to look deeper.

The service tech did show up on time to the appointment and called me when he was on his way. He checked over the unit for free at the same time that he cleaned it. He told me everything seemed to be okay.
