Derstine Roofing

Mr. Derstine is professional, reliable, responsive and his work is reasonably priced. He caulked the holes in my old tin roof so it wouldn't leak until he had time to coat the entire roof. It was the busiest time of year for roofing work. My relatively small job was done within a month of my first call--that's reasonable I think. The day he & his worker coated the roof, they were prompt, efficient, and CLEANED UP after themselves. I couldn't be more satisfied.

Excellent. Initial contact over phone while I was in hospital. The house I recently purchased had a roof in questionable condition. A neighbor recommended Derstine. He looked over the house & confirmed the condition. He made recommendations & sent samples of new material & colors. The work took a day+ to do. I am very happy w the work.

I need to stress the work has not been done yet. Mr. Derstine, very personable and knowledgeable, walked all over my old, tin roof, pulled out and caulked a hand full of nails and said it just needs painting with tar to fill loose nail holes. This is a very busy time for roofers. He said he could do this 1-day job if a roof replacement he is doing elsewhere gets finished earlier than he expects. He said he doesn't actually keep a schedule and asked me to call to remind him. He said the work should be done before September. He said I should not let it get to be August before we find time for him to do this work. It's August. I've called three times and left messages. No response. Derstine is closer to me than any listed by Angie's List, so I am going to give him some slack.

He came out in November 2011 to look at the roof, said I could wait till spring, it would be a better job as the shingles would adhere better to each other. They arrived within the scheduled time, clean up debris each day and rolled a heavy magnet roller over the ground to pike up nails.
