M & D PLUMBING

M & D Plumbing has been my plumber for almost 30 years. He's a great craftsman, very easy to work with and reasonably priced.

He responded immediately to my voice mail message. Scheduled an appointment the next morning and arrived on time. Reviewed the sitiation. Replaced the valve and did a short term fix to make the downstairs toilet operable while he ordered the replacement toilets we requested. Scheduled the toilet replacement for three days later. Showed up on time at 8:30 AM on that day and completed the whole job in a few hours. He is reliable and punctual as well as being a pleasant person who explains all options and procedures. When he left everthing was clean and you could not tell a plumber had been there.

Noticed that hot water tank was leaking so called M&D. Marty was here first thing the next morning with a new tank. He cleaned everything up and left the basement in better shape than it was when he arrived.

Marty is wonderful!! He was recommended to me and I checked out his excellent reviews on Angie's List. He was very responsive by phone. He came to provide an estimate and spent a good hour plus going over what needed to be done. He determined that the water supply to the house could be shut off at the street with his key which was helpful. He arrived as scheduled and on time. He spent one and a half days completing our job and came in under estimate. He also provided helpful information regarding our plumbing and also identified our gas supply line to our fireplace (we just bought the house) and made sure everything was operational. He was extremely tidy in every area he worked and everything looks - and works - great. He went over everything he did and answered all of my questions. I would recommend Marty unconditionally. We will be using him again without hesitation.

Marty was great. Another plumber had tried twice (two different crews) to repair the same problem, which only became worse after their attempts. They were going to rip out and replace everything -- fortunately, we found Marty before doing that. Marty knew immediately how to fix it, and did so quickly. When the leak returned, he immediately knew over the phone from our description that one of the parts had failed and he promptly came out to the house and fixed it at no additional charge. He charged less than the other plumber and actually got the job done right. He clearly is very knowledgeable about older homes and is fair and honest. A rare find.

Marty has done all of the plumbing work on both of the houses that I've owned over the past 25 years. He's such a gem that I'm almost reluctant to share him with the List. He is an expert plumber, he's honest, he's reasonable and he's unvaryingly reliable. And he's even nice! There's not many like him around anymore. My houses have both been old and full of strange plumbing, good and bad. He's solved every riddle that I've thrown at him.

Great - Marty was thorough in his diagnosis as he filled up tubs in addition to the washing machine to find out what happened when he let the water out. He explained that he listened for the water to go through the pipes all the way to the outside trap.

MARTY IS A VERY CONSCIENTIOUS WORKER. HE ALWAYS ARRIVES ON TIME AND DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE PLUMBER.
