Pros: 1. Response to website email inquiry was received within 24hours. Cons: 1. No consultation was offered. 2. Provider made incorrect assumptions about the nature of the purchase I wanted to make without any inquiries to me from the provider. 3. Overall, customer experience/customer focus was poor on the part of the provider. · Initial inquiry was via email 7/8/13 on the Reed Sign website for pricing examples or signage for a development. · Received response 7/9/13 from Mr. Edward Reed, Managing Partner, Sales, stating that the type of signage I was requesting was not the type of signage that they normally produce. (I found jos response odd since neither he nor anyone from Reed Sign had initiated a consultation nor asked me what I was specifically interested in to make that determination.) · I clarified my inquiry and mentioned that the front page of their website actually had an example of the type of sign I had interest in purchasing and if perhaps a third party created their signs, would he be so kind as to share that contact information. · Mr. Reed responded via email that they produced all of the signs on their webpage in their facility however, the sign I was referencing was typically not used in a development and that developments usually have carved wooded signs and they do not produce carved signs. (Again, I was puzzled by Mr. Reeds? response since there was no consultation performed, nor was there any discussion or request for a carved wood sign. It seemed to me that assumptions were being made on his part and I got the sense from the tone of his emails that Mr. Reed did not have interest in pursuing an opportunity to bid on our project.) · I asked if my sense was correct and, if so, that was not a problem, just to let me know. Or, if that was not correct and/or he was not the right person for this inquiry, perhaps he would be so kind as to forward my inquiry to someone that might contact me via phone. Ideally that person would be in a role that would have interest in gaining an understanding of what type of sign I have interest in and would be interested in providing us a bid for the work we would like to have done. · Mr. Reed replied and stated that my sense was correct, that he was just swamped with his current customer base and essentially was not interested in any new business at this time. · I replied that was fine and I appreciated his candor but, mentioned I would have preferred knowing that right up front because getting to the point of understanding why I was not receiving any consultation or information from him left me with the impression Reed Sign had no interest in my business and therefore, I was left with a negative customer experience. · Mr. Reed replied: ?Whatever - I think you and I live in different worlds.? · Although I as a customer would never expect to receive a response like that from any service provider and especially since the Reed Sign company website states at the top of their site that they are professional and courteous. Bottom line, I have to agree with him?we absolutely do live in different worlds as I would never treat a potential customer in that manner.
