Overall, the carpets were cleaned, and they looked a lot better than i thought they would turn out. Once the gentleman arrived he was in and out in about 45 min. He did say that the carpet cleaning would be an extra $25 because the carpet was berber. When i made the appointment nobody asked what kind of carpet I had, and i've never had carpets cleaned before so I wasn't aware there would be a price difference. But he did forego the price because I was an Angie's list member.
The only negative thing I would have to say is that there was some confusion about timing. I was originally told that carpets would be cleaned between 730-930am. However when I received a phone call at 8am it was to tell me that they wouldn't arrive until 1130. and that the original time frame i was given was to give a window for cleaning only, and no service would be provided at that first time frame. Which definitely interfered with my day.
A WEEK LATER, I AM GETTING THE RUN AROUND FROM BOTH ANGIES LIST AND ROTH CARPET CONCERNING BEING CHARGED TWICE. LOOK AT BBB RATING FOR THIS COMPANY - AN F , THEY ARE NOT ACCREDITED WITH THE BBB. ANGIES LIST NEEDS TO DROP THIS COMPANY DUE TO BILLING PRACTICES AND COSTS STATED A F T E R THEY ARRIVE. USE ANOTHER COMPANY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"First, it is not the policy of Roth Carpet Cleaning to charge a customer twice. The client did not provide the technician with this information at the time of service. Part of the technician's job is to collect payment upon completion of the service. As there was no mention of prepayment, the technician naturally asked for payment. The client still said nothing and paid the bill. Further, this client was so happy with the service that she gave the technician a significant tip. The first time we learned of this very honest mistake was when this review was published. In addition, this particular customer took the time to gather area rugs together on the driveway. When questioned, she claimed that these area rugs equaled the size of a room of broadloom carpeting and, therefore, counted as one of her rooms on the coupon. This is far outside of the bounds of what is normal with carpet cleaning. Our policy is to clean area rugs in plant and the charge is significantly more than the price of a room of broadloom carpeting. In the interest of customer service, our technician agreed to clean these area rugs at the reduced price. We are refunding this customer the overcharged amount and suggest that she explore other options for her cleaning needs in the future."
Very good responsiveness and customer service over the phone. The day before the scheduled cleaning I received a call stating that I would receive a call the morning of the cleaning giving me a window of when the carpet cleaner would show up (12-2pm). Later I received a call stating that the cleaner was running late and would be there by 3pm at the latest. Obviously this is not an ideal situation.
However, the cleaner did arrive at 3pm, and quickly made it up to me by using a higher quality steam cleaner and doing the hallway for no extra charge. He was apologetic for the delay, very personable, and did a decent enough job (probably as good as or better than I could have asked for a discounted service). They don't move beds, and the cleaning stopped right at the perimeter of the bed (I had wished that he would perhaps clean as far under the bed as he could), but I'm honestly very happy with the service.
No chemical smells (no smells of any kind); it seems to have gotten the dog smells out of the carpet. Carpets dried in 6-8 hours. I would most likely use Roth Carpet Cleaning again.
