My daughter was getting married. We decided to get my daughter's bouquet, her throw away bouquet and the bridal party boutonnieres from a florist and chose Oliver Flower Shop. The florist, Karen, worked with my daughter and they designed the requested flowers. My daughter was extremely happy with Karen's assistance. We also thought we could get some bulk Costco flowers (stargazer lilies) for the bridesmaids bouquets to save some money. We weren't looking for anything complicated and thought we could easily do it ourselves. Grab some stems and wrap some ribbon around them... how hard could that be? Luckily, my daughter mentioned this to Karen and she gave us some advise on the bulk flowers and said she could help, if necessary. Well, the bulk flowers showed up on the Wednesday before the Saturday wedding. They were closed blooms and we had to wait for them to open which was expected. The situation ended up being a little more difficult. I thought they would be a single stem flower, instead there were multiple blooms (way more than we needed). The most immature flower was at the top of the stem. Thought they would open very easily, they didn't. The situation was starting to get more stressful as time went on. I visited Karen on Thursday to order another boutonniere and discussed the bulk flowers again. She gave us more advise and we tried to follow it to get more of the blooms to open. Karen said if we needed to bring them in for her to do the bouquets, she needed the flowers Friday afternoon. By Friday, we definitely needed the help and carried 3 overfilled buckets of flowers to the shop. We apparently did not have the proper accessories for the bouquets and luckily Karen found the supplies we needed.... perfectly matched ribbon to boot. Karen gladly took everything and asked us to give her until noon to complete the bouquets since she had another large unexpected order for Saturday morning. Karen was not critical of our attempt and always willing to help. We ended up picking up all the flowers around 11am which was good timing for us. All the flowers were beautiful, especially the bridesmaids bouquets. We could not have done this with out Karen! I was so relieved when Karen agreed to take our flowers and complete the task!! I would have been one stressed out Mother of Bride had she not helped us. Everything she did exceeded our expectations and allowed me to keep my sanity. I can't thank Karen enough for working with us. I went in to hug her and kiss her feet after the wedding. :)
