Although the bid was WAY over in price, my problem is mostly with the poor handling of customer service issue. Over the phone, he gave me a bid of $450-$500. When he arrived to look at the job, his bid, in writing, was $1200. The final bill was $1335.76. His work was o.k., but there was a misunderstanding about what type of joint was to be installed. He suggested that he could install a "diverter" valve, which he needed to go and get. I was waiting for him to return with it and when I saw that a faucet had been installed, I assumed he must have come back and the plumbers on site had installed the joint. Upon closer inspection, I realized that no "diverter" valve had been installed. When I tried to explain it to the plumbers on site, they looked at me as if I was crazy. Since the valve had not been in the original plan, I paid the bill, enclosing a note to explain my dissatisfaction to the owner. His reply was shockingly aggressive, inappropriate, and unprofessional.
Description of Work: Installed floor drains. Moved hot & cold water. Installed shower faucet.
