He is absolutely outstanding. For my dryer, he found that a plug had come loose and he was able to plug it back in. Because it was so simple, he didn’t charge for the work. John is very thorough. He can do almost any type of work, including heating and air conditioning. He really goes out of his way and has done everything that I have wanted him to do. I couldn’t recommend him high enough.

This started as an Angie's List Deal for a AC tuneup for $49. They recommended some work be done to my furnace and air conditioner along the way. I'm sure you're thinking, "Oh yes of course they found something wrong that's how they sucker you in" but trust me everything they recommended I already knew about and knew that it was an issue. I was happy they agreed with me and amazingly they were able to do all of the extra work (putting in a movable air filter where I previously just had a hole cut in the duct work for the filter, sealing joints, replacing duct work, repositioning air conditioner) on the spot. It took them about three hours which is what they had estimated. They did all of this for an extra $250 to bring the total cost for everything to $300. I was very pleased with their work and they were super nice. I would definitely use them again.

John and his team replaced our 25 year old furnace and a/c unit. Upon inspecting our current furnace, he advised us that it was far too large for our house and recommended a much smaller unit for our needs. John and his team were punctual and professional. My husband wanted a programmable thermostat and John researched to find us the best one for our money. John would not complete the job without making sure that it met his high standards. After the work was performed, John called us to make sure that we were satisfied with the work we had done. John is a great guy, professional, and trustworthy. I will definitely use John again for all of our HVAC needs!

The work went very well. The results are great. The work is clean. His estimate was dead on for the project. John is very straightforward to communicate with and gives you good feedback on what you are asking for. I would strongly recommend John for HVAC work. His crew does a very nice job. My only word of caution would be to make sure the timeline is worked out well. I think both John and I were surprised that the job stretched into three days when we were probably both thinking 1.5 days when it started.

He did a very good job. My mail box is on a post and someone ran into the post and broke it off so I had to replace it. He put in a new post and so forth. I was happy with his work and if I have to use the handyman again I will use him.

I bought a coupon for two hours of handyman services to mount our tv on a brick wall. Two guys came and mounted our 50 inch tv above the fireplace in about an hour. They were on time, professional and cleaned up after themselves. Thanks!

John was wonderful to work with and did great work. He was punctual and willing to come work on the project in the evening hours. He charged a very fair fee and I would not hesitate to use him again. Overall, great experience!

This man was wonderful. The refrigerator repair was a minor issue but when I really needed him for the furnace...he was there. Mr. Mullen came within the hour after I had called him. He did not have the part with him but another man came with the needed part and I had heat. I recommend this repair man highly. I'm afraid he's going to get so busy because he's so good it will be hard to get his services. The price was so reasonable, I thought he had made a mistake. He gets an A+++.

Contacted John Mullen Home Repair and left a message with the answering service. It has been two days, and I have yet to receive a call back. I guess they are too busy or don't need the business.

John came to the house late on a Saturday night...He did an excellent job and explained everything that he was doing...It ended up being a blocked intake and he fixed it...He was the only service provider that was willing to come out that late in the evening...I was very impressed w/ his service and his professionalism

John was nice enough to come look at my furnace 2 days before Christmas. The furnace just didn't sound like it had in the past and I was having company for the holidays. As soon as John heard the noise coming from the furnace, he knew what the problem was. He had to go to Leetsdale to get the part. He was back within the hour. He replaced the part and the furnace was in good working order once again.

It turned out good. They did a fine job. I wasn't there, but my dad was, but everything worked good he said. They don't charge me anything additional. We would definitely use them again in the future.

I've tried a few different handyman/plumbers after moving to the area, and John is so far my favorite one. The things that makes him stand out include: 1. John's been doing this for a long time and is extremely knowledgeable about the things he do, from HVAC, plumbing and electricity, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, and even tasks like attic ventilation. My HVAC was installed in a small closet space and he quickly figured out a way to reroute flus through the back too make space for adding the whole house humidifier. It was a pretty complicated routing of flu pipes, but he did his measures quickly and got all the materials he needed in just one trip. 2. John is very professional, polite and courteous, and comes prepared with his van full of tools and supplies. Therefore, John doesn't run out to get stuff all the time (unlike some less professional handyman), and John doesn't bill clients for trips made to home improvement stores, 3. With the experience and knowledge John wields, he does things in a nice and clean fashion, yet very quickly. 4. John is honest and fair. His estimates are very reasonable to begin with, and even when unexpected things happen on the job and he goes over the estimated time, he didn't charge me extra for that. In fact, my kitchen faucet's sprayer head fell off when he was about to finish the contracted HVAC work, and he quickly figured out the problem and fixed it with no additional charge to me. In short, the experience working with him have been very outstanding, and I would definitely call him again for our upcoming laundry list of work.

When I initially called to set up my appointment, I had to leave a number of messages prior to being contacted by the company. When I finally spoke to someone, they were very kind and apologetic. We set an appointment for the following weekend. On the date of our appointment, no one came and I received no call from anyone from the company. When I followed up via message, my call was returned and we set another appointment for the following weekend. They were again very apologetic and kind on the phone. When our next appointment was another no-show without a call, I left a number of messages for the company and have not yet heard back. This has now been weeks and I have not got a call as to why no one came or why no one called me to explain. Very frustrating. The most frustrating part is that since this was purchased as an Angie's List Deal, we already paid for this service that apparently never is going to happen. I would not recommend this service to anyone due to the lack of responsiveness and professionalism. Since no work was ever actually performed, I can't speak to the quality of work -- however, the rest of the experience was so unpleasant that I feel confident encouraging others to go elsewhere.

I was very pleased with John's performance. First, John made himself immediately available to assess our request for repairs. John called to confirm he was coming. He arrived as scheduled. Assessed the work order for free. We scheduled time for John to come back a week later. John arrived on the date and time we agreed. Pertaining to the work done, John was very meticulous and diligent. John is a superb craftsman. The entire installation of weatherstripping and threshold were precise/perfect. Request required John to remove door, cut door down to size, install threshold and weatherstripping. All this was done at night and outside on the deck. Despite the darkness and cold temperature, John was very diligent. We were extremely happy with John's work, his attitude, and overall work ethic. John is an excellent craftsman. I would recommend John without any reservations.

Scheduled us quickly, arrived on time, and was professional and friendly. He performed the work efficiently, reminded us to change the batteries in our smoke detectors, and even recommended we buy carbon monoxide detectors. Highly recommend him!

The job was to rehang a fence gate to our backyard. I paid Angie's List $69 for two hours of handyman work. | |I contacted Mr. Mullen and he suggested an early morning appointment. We scheduled for 7:30am. I took a vacation day to be there fore the job. However, Mr. Mullen did not show up. I called and left a message about the no-show. Without contacting me, Mr. Mullen showed up at the end of the day ... approx. 7pm in the evening (it was dark). Without contacting us, he started work on rehanging the fence gate. He then came back the next evening to complete the job. Mr. Mullen charged me an additional $285 for this job bringing the total amount to $354. I certainly did not expect the job to cost this much. Unfortunately, Mr. Mullen reused the rusted hardware for the fence latch. I would have preferred to replace it, but he never met with me to discuss the job as (as we had arranged) before doing it. The fence gate closed well at first, but does not latch properly now. Therefore, I am disappointed with this outcome.

My experience with him was excellent. He was really good. He was professional and the pricing was good. He was very knowledgeable in what he did. He was just friendly and a really nice guy. His timing was good and he actually stayed over a little. He didn’t charge me anything extra for that. The big deal purchase was for $37 but I also used him after my deal was over. Anything over the big deal would be a little bit more and so I used him also for some other projects. I will most definitely use him again in the future.

Awesome. My go to HVAC guy now. Actually worked to check my system and then advised me on maintainence instead of pretending to do work like the last three guys. Convenient times.
