My main sewer line had backup into the basement. I called a different company to clean out the line and they got things flowing, but told me I would need a plumber to replace the main trap. I called my main plumber and he said he did not do this type of work and recommended McVay.
The owner, Mike McVay, came out early on Saturday as promised, but could not give me an estimate, because the line was clogged again. He quoted $150 to clean out and run a camera through the line. He suggested I call the first company and see if the original company could come out and reopen the line before paying him $150.
The first company came back later in the day and got the line open again. Mike came back later on Saturday and tried running a camera through the line, but it got stuck in the trap.
He quoted $975 to replace the trap and then run a camera through the remainder of the sewer line. He said he could do the work on Tuesday. I told him I wanted to think about it overnight, since I was expecting another company to also give me a quote.
He gave me his cell phone number and told me to call when I made up my mind.
I called early Sunday and told him I would like him to do the work. He was fishing at the time and said he would get back to me.
When we finally talked Monday he wasn't sure if he could get to it Tuesday.
However they were able to get to me on Tuesday and they came out and did the work in a few hours.
He ran a camera down the main line and said that I did not need any additional work.
